These sweet yet confident voices drew crowds of parents, teachers, and students alike. Welcome to the EY4 "Sharing the Planet" Unit of Inquiry (UOI) Exhibition! Centered around the central idea that "living things have features which make them unique," our young learners transformed into "little zoologists," diving deep into the mysteries of how different species survive and thrive in nature.

这些稚嫩而自信的讲解,引来许多师生家长驻足,原来,这里是幼儿园大班“共享地球”探究单元展览现场!在这场探究之旅中,孩子们围绕“生物都有独一无二的特征”这一核心思想,化身“小小动物学家”。深入探索了不同物种在自然中的生存奥秘。

On this day, our Early Childhood Learning Center became a wondrous mini-zoo. From polar penguins to deep-sea turtles, and forest squirrels to savanna tigers, the animals chosen by the children were incredibly diverse. Stepping into it, the first things to catch the eye were the larger-than-life animal paintings and vivid papier-mâché models, each bursting with vibrant, childlike creativity and expression.

当天的幼儿活动中心俨然成了奇妙的微观动物园:从极地企鹅到深海海龟,从林间松鼠到草原猛虎,孩子们自主选择的研究对象五花八门。踏入展区,最先吸引眼球的是那些比孩子还要大的“超大号”动物画作和栩栩如生的立体纸浆模型,充满了生机勃勃的童趣与表现力。


Zooming in, each child’s dedicated booth revealed even finer details. Inside their compact dioramas, the children used clay and other mediums to vividly recreate their chosen animal's habitat. Paired with colorful, clearly labeled informative posters, they confidently shared fun facts about animal diets, life cycles, and unique traits with the guests. This was far more than a creative craft show, it was a true highlight of our EY4 students' growing communication skills and confidence!

将视线拉近,每个孩子的专属展台更显精妙。在方寸大小的“微缩生态盒”里,孩子们用粘土生动还原了动物的栖息环境。配合一旁图文并茂、标注清晰的个人展板,他们大方地向来宾介绍着动物的饮食习惯、生命周期与奇妙特征。这不仅是一场创意手工展,更是大班孩子们表达自信的高光时刻!


This amazing showcase was the result of a weeks-long inquiry project. Guided by their teachers, the children took the wheel of their own learning, unlocking lifelong learner skills through independent exploration:

这份令人惊叹的成果源于一场历时数周的探究之旅。在老师的引导下,孩子们握紧探究的“方向盘”,解锁了受用终身的学习者技能:

Field Trip 实地考察

Armed with countless questions, the children kicked off their inquiry at Chimelong Safari Park. Acting as real researchers, they observed animals up close in a real-world setting, gathering the freshest firsthand material.

孩子们带着问题前往长隆野生动物世界。他们化身“小研究员”,近距离观察动物的真实形态与习性,积累了最鲜活的第一手素材。

Library Research 资料搜集

To find answers to new questions, they headed to the school library. Navigating a vast world of books, they practiced research and note-taking skills, using sketches, symbols, and early spelling to document animal habits for their posters.

为了解答新疑问,孩子们走进了学校图书馆。面对浩瀚书海,孩子们培养检索、记笔记的能力,用简笔画、符号、早期拼写等记录下所选动物的习性,为自己的展板做准备。

Exhibition Prep 策展准备

When it came to the exciting "output" phase, the children took charge of everything! From sculpting clay and painting giant posters to setting up their booths. Ultimately, abstract knowledge came to life as tangible, beautiful artistic expressions.

到了知识“输出”环节,从揉捏粘土、绘制巨幅海报到亲手布置展台,全由孩子们亲力亲为。最终,抽象的知识落地成手具体而精致的艺术表达。

Looking back at this complete learning cycle: from curious questioning to confident presenting, this UOI exhibition beautifully embodies our philosophy of holistic education. Rather than just feeding them facts, we focus on scaffolding real-world exploration. We guide them to become inquisitive "Thinkers" and nurture a "Caring" heart as they connect with nature, inspiring them to bring positive changes to the world around them.

回顾这段从“好奇发问”到“自信开讲”的完整闭环,这场探究单元展览正是全人教育理念的生动缩影。比起单纯的知识灌输,我们更致力于孩子们搭建一个真实探索的脚手架,引导他们在探究中成为善于提问的“思考者”,在认识自然的过程中,逐渐萌生出“懂得关爱”的同理心,并为身边带来变化。


The seeds of inquiry have sprouted. Filled with love and critical thought, our little zoologists are fully ready to embrace the big, wide world!

探究的种子已经破土,这群带着爱与思考的小动物学家,已经做好拥抱广阔世界的准备!
