42名IB少年闯荡加拿大一个月，沉浸式体验北美教育 Short-term Study Abroad Program – Canada

在熟悉的 IB 探究式课堂之外，双轨制的校园学习，成为孩子们从另一个角度触摸北美教育的窗口。公立校园里，ELL 分层英文、数理科学、人文艺术、户外运动轮番开展，课堂鼓励举手质疑、分组研讨，打破单向灌输的授课模式。博域中学则依托成熟的 IB MYP 课程体系，日常开设数学、英语、体育、历史、戏剧与设计等核心课程。每一节课都鼓励学生主动提问、动手实践 —— 戏剧课上大胆表达角色，设计课中从草图到模型一步步实现创意。

Students got to experience typical North American education and formal IB MYP courses. A wide range of subjects were offered in class. Teachers encouraged students to raise questions, discuss in groups and complete hands-on tasks, so everyone could fully express ideas and turn creativity into reality.

Instead of sticking to standard answers, teachers paid more attention to students’ thinking process and courage to try new things. All students received official completion certificates. More importantly, they developed solid creative and critical thinking skills through free exploration.

Staying with local host families was a valuable part of the trip. Students learned to take care of themselves and adapt to new lifestyles. They communicated with host family members, shared Chinese culture and stories, and gradually learned to respect cultural differences and be considerate.

Teachers and classmates accompanied and supported each other throughout the tour. Simple birthday celebrations brought warmth and joy to everyone far away from home. These sweet moments relieved loneliness and reflected the core idea of IB education, which focuses on students’ holistic development and mental health.

On weekends, students took part in various field trips. They visited the University of British Columbia, famous parks and scenic spots in Vancouver and Victoria. These outdoor activities allowed them to experience local academia, natural scenery and unique local culture.

Every destination brought new knowledge and insights. By stepping out of the classroom, students broadened their horizons and built a global vision while holding fast to their own cultural roots.
