Dear members of transition Camp 2022,
Congratulations to you all. Now you have had a taste of ISA education, I look forward to seeing you in the coming new term.
Let’s give a round of applause to Ms. Beth Jones, as this camp will not be possible without her dedication, commitment and hard-work.
The uniqueness of ISA schools is that we do not just erect a campus, recruit some teachers and students, select a curriculum and nurture some graduates who then go abroad to pursue their higher education. No, we at ISA are trying to create a culture, a culture of education, and then we hope that this education we provide will be a way of life. This culture should be built upon respect and equality. Every member of the ISA education community (school staff, students and parents) should respect each other, maintain an equal dialogue and communication, and support and understand each other. Future teachers and students will contribute more content and add more building bricks to enrich our culture, because our culture must be vibrant and continue to evolve.
However, our values should not be easily altered. For example our A Level Centre’s motto is: Respect, Integrity, Kindness, and Excellence. We hope that every member of the ISA education community will adhere to these values in order to grow, make progress and eventually improve.
ISA schools boast an excellent management and faculty team. We employ a variety of instructional models, inquiry-based as well as direct instruction. Enrichment and well-being course are offered as well. At ISA, we are dedicated to providing a holistic education, with high-quality pastoral care. We aim at cultivating life-long learners with their own life goals, who are well versed in both western and Chinese culture, and well equipped to face the challenges of the future.
At ISA, we believe that the intrinsic motivation to work hard comes from a genuine interest in a subject and a relationship with a teacher who inspires one’s interest. What happens in the classroom is of the utmost importance to our teaching and learning. We strive to embrace the concept of intellectual playfulness, where the learner is empowered to drive their own learning to own their achievements, is excited to be in the classroom and eager to make their own discoveries. Our teachers aspire to encourage a love for learning that will continue beyond ISA into university and then into life. The uniqueness of an ISA education, that blends our multi-lingual curriculum with the great strengths of Chinese culture, society, and heritage with the richness of international curricula and an international mindset, will prepare our students well for their future. Through our variety of academic learning pathways, our students are educated to become truly globally-minded citizens of the world. Their hard work, dedication and commitment to making a positive contribution to society will enable them to take ownership of their own life in due course.
Members of Transition Camp 2022, I sincerely hope that you will devote yourself to learning and absorbing the valuable educational experience you will receive at an ISA school and work closely with your teachers to prepare yourselves to lead a wonderful life of your own.
