Summer School Week 3
The third week of the summer camp was also full of fresh experiences and fun. Through a variety of courses and activities, the children explored together in many fields such as academics, sports, art, science, etc. They developed comprehensively and spent a happy week in summer school.
第三周的暑期班也充满了新鲜的体验和乐趣。孩子们通过丰富多彩的课程和活动,从学术、体育、艺术、科学等多个领域共同探索。他们在暑期班里全面发展、快乐成长。

Class 1 Review 第三周回顾
Let's dive into the ocean with class 1! Last week, we discovered various animals that call our oceans home. Class 1 had an exciting time learning about ocean life through language and sensory skill activities. We used visual aids like cards and photos to help us learn and practice pronouncing ocean life vocabulary. We also set up two sensory tables - one with water and various resources to create an ocean environment, and the other with mini ocean life figurines, vocabulary words, and magnifying glasses to help us describe the differences between ocean creatures. It was a blast bringing the ocean into our ISA Tianhe classroom!

Class 2 Review 第三周回顾
Last week class 2 explored all about Dinosaurs! In our topic lessons we had lots of fun learning about when dinosaurs lived and what they eat, we discussed our favourite dinosaurs and why we liked them. We explored how dinosaurs look and used playdough, and drawing to create our own dinosaurs.

In English lessons we shared a variety of dinosaur stories as well as practicing our reading skills. In maths this week we focused on counting within 20 and shapes. The students had lots of fun learning and practicing a dinosaur dance and song for the parent assembly.

Class 3 Review 第三周回顾
In class 3 we have been exploring transport and using transports to immerse ourselves in creativity and learning. The students have identified, role played and read about different transports. We have investigated how transports help our lives with stories and discussion. Creatively and collaboratively, we took some of the concepts of recycling from last week’s ocean theme and used cardboard boxes to create our own transports. Painting them together and into wonderful colourful models, we have tried to incorporate it into our assembly song and look forwards to sharing our work.

Class 4 Review 第三周回顾
During the third week of summer camp, Class 4 students had the opportunity to explore and adapt the classic story of "The Three Little Pigs." They worked collaboratively to reorder and retell the story, as well as making changes to the setting, characters and plot to create their own unique retelling.
在第三周的暑期班中,Class 4的学生有机会探索并改编了《三只小猪》经典故事。他们齐心协力重新编排和复述故事,并对场景、人物和情节进行修改,创造自己独特的故事讲述方式。
Students also practiced and performed a play of "The Three Little Pigs", developing their social and communication skills, as they worked on creating an appropriate voice and intonation for the big stage.
学生们还练习和表演了《三只小猪》的话剧。他们编排了如何能在大舞台上展现最好的表现,通过话剧的排练,学生们提升了社交和沟通的技巧。
In addition to the storytelling and performance work, the students also delved into the properties of 3D shapes and materials. They experimented with different materials and structures to determine strong designs for houses- that could protect them from the big bad wolf! This hands-on exploration helped them develop their understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving skills.

Class 5 Review 第三周回顾
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games is upon us and it is only fitting for Class 5 to get into the spirit of this event by having our own Classroom Olympics! The students learned about the history of the Olympics, made flags, created mascots and took part in so many fun classroom Olympic activities and games, such as relay races, beanbag shot put, standing long jump, paper cup flipping, paper plane throwing and much much more. What a fun-filled week making new friends and lasting memories.
2024 年巴黎奥运会即将到来,Class 5通过举办自己的课堂奥运会来感受这一盛事的气氛!学生们了解了奥运会的历史、制作了旗帜、创造了吉祥物,并参与到课堂“奥运会”活动和游戏,例如接力赛、豆袋铅球、立定跳远、纸杯翻转、纸飞机投掷等等。对孩子们来说这是充满乐趣的一周,他们结识了新朋友并留下了难忘的回忆。

Class 6 Review 第三周回顾
Last week, students in Class 6 took on an exciting transdisciplinary project - designing their very own zoo! The project combined skills from science, math, and design.
上周,Class 6 的学生们开启了一个令人兴奋的跨学科项目——设计动物园。该项目结合了科学、数学和设计方面的技能。
First, the students researched different animals they wanted to include in their zoos and determined the space requirements for each one. Using this information, they started planning out the layout of their zoos on graph paper, being mindful of the total area available and their budgets.
首先,学生们讨论了他们想要在动物园中饲养的动物,并确定了每种动物对空间的需求。有了这些信息后,他们结合面积以及预算开始规划动物园的布局。
In Maths, the students learned about calculating area and perimeter - key skills they applied directly to their zoo designs. They used these math concepts to ensure their plans fit within the allotted space and budget.

After multiple drafts and revisions, the students finalized their zoo designs, creating colorful and creative layouts complete with enclosures for all their chosen animals. It was a hands-on project that allowed the class to explore scientific concepts, apply math skills, and use their design thinking abilities.
