我们正面临着教育史上前所未有的时刻。


过去几年,基于大语言模型的生成式人工智能以前所未有的发展态势在全球范围内普及,标志着有史以来最重大的技术飞跃之一;春节期间,Deepseek的话题一度登顶。不夸张地说,大家茶余饭后的聊天中几乎都出现了这个中国独立研发、追赶上了ChatGPT的AI,人们集体感慨:“AI时代真的来了”。



新学期伊始,惠灵顿杭州校区迎来了备受期待的“科技体验周”。在这一周里,各学部的学子们深入探索了人工智能的奥秘,了解了其背后的工作原理,并亲身体验了AI技术的魅力。数字领袖们更是有幸参观了苹果体验店,参与了一场别开生面的工作坊,进一步提升了他们的技术应用能力。


此外,学校精心组织了关于互联网安全的PSHE(人格、社会、健康、经济教育)课程,为学生们在数字时代的健康成长保驾护航;学生们还尝试了VR头戴设备,沉浸在虚拟现实的学习环境中,感受科技带来的全新学习体验。

当传统画笔遇上数字魔法

午间创意工坊开启数字艺术之旅!学生们在"镜像魔法"等特色项目中,使用Tayasui专业绘图工具,将传统笔触与现代科技完美融合,创作出令人惊艳的数字艺术作品。


AI文学课

培养批判性思维与数字意识

在科技体验周期间,学生们积极参与了AI文学课,对人工智能领域的各类话题开展了发人深省的探讨。人工智能是否具备情感?人工智能将如何影响未来职业发展?如果能拥有自己的机器人,你希望它们能具备怎样的功能?这些课程有效激发了学生的批判性思维和数字意识,而这些技能正是他们在日益科技化的世界中从容应对和导航的必备素养。


VR体验

使学习变得引人入胜

本周最为引人注目的体验,是引进了虚拟现实(VR)学习技术。每个班级都得以进入全新的虚拟环境,无论是探索海洋深处、漫步于历史地标,甚至深入人体内部。这种身临其境的体验使学习变得生动有趣,使复杂的主题更加具体且引人入胜。


创新探索

苹果体验店之行

学生数字领袖们有幸参观了位于万象城的苹果零售店,并参与了一场关于数字创意的实践工作坊。学生们使用Procreate设计了属于自己的表情符号,探索了科技与自我表达的交汇点。他们还学习了如何使用各种画笔实现不同效果,如何有效使用图层,以及如何液化图层以扭曲图像。这次沉浸式体验不仅激发了他们的创造力,还让他们得以一窥数字设计的世界。

电子竞技策略之战

电子竞技远不止于单纯的娱乐游戏——它更是一场融合了团队合作、策略部署与问题解决的综合性挑战。我们的学生在一场《我的世界》夺旗模式的实时对决中,充分检验了自身的各项技能。此次活动不仅展现了他们在激烈而友好的竞技氛围中协同作战的能力,更凸显了他们批判性思维和数字素养的卓越应用。

本次科技体验周不仅面向学生,老师们也纷纷化身"科技导师",在AI教学论坛上分享自己的实用AI软件:从智能翻译神器到互动故事APP,通过鲜活的教学案例秀,揭秘如何用数字工具玩转跨学科课堂。

因此,惠灵顿杭州校区在文化课之余,精心开设丰富的CCA课程,积极鼓励学生参与各类国际竞赛,每年倾力公演一部音乐剧,并带领学生走出教室,在研学之旅中通过真实的任务挑战,培养他们的批判性思维、沟通能力、协作能力和创造力等综合素质。

Techsperience Week: 

A Celebration of Learning and Innovation








We are at an unparalleled juncture in the history of education. 


Generative artificial intelligence, powered by large language models, has rapidly become a global phenomenon over the past few years, representing one of the most notable technological advancements in history. During this Chinese New Year holiday, a tool called Deepseek went viral; it is no exaggeration to say that this ChatGPT equivalent independently developed in China became a topic of widespread conversation. We are all amazed at how the AI era has truly taken hold. 



At Wellington College Hangzhou, we launched the new term with the highly anticipated “Techsperience Week”. During this event, pupils from different grades explored the wonders of artificial intelligence, learned about the underlying principles and experienced the allure of AI technology firsthand. Our digital leaders had the opportunity to visit the Apple Store, where they participated in a unique workshop that further honed their technological skills. 


In addition, we organised a PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) course focused on internet safety to help our pupils navigate in the digital age. Pupils also had the chance to try on VR headsets, immersing themselves in a virtual reality learning environment and enjoying the novel educational experiences made possible by technology.

Pupils got hands-on with digital creativity through lunchtime workshops, including Mirror Magic with Tayasui’s Sketches School. These sessions encouraged pupils to experiment with digital art tools, blending traditional drawing techniques with modern technology.  


AI Literacy Lessons 

Encourage Critical Thinking

and Digital Awareness

Throughout the week, pupils engaged in AI Literacy lessons, delving into thought-provoking discussions on artificial intelligence. Using interactive tools, they explored questions such as: Can AI have emotions? How might AI impact future careers? These lessons encouraged critical thinking and digital awareness, essential skills for navigating an increasingly tech-driven world. 


VR Experience 

Take Learning to the Next Level

One of the standout experiences of the week was the introduction of Virtual Reality (VR) learning. Every class had the opportunity to step into new virtual environments, whether it was exploring the depths of the ocean, walking through historical landmarks, or even stepping inside the human body. This hands-on experience helped bring learning to life, making complex topics more tangible and engaging. 


A Journey into Innovation 

Apple Store Trip 

Our Digital Leaders had the unique opportunity to visit the Apple Store at MixC, where they participated in a hands-on workshop on digital creativity. The pupils designed their own emojis, exploring the interdiv of technology and self-expression. This immersive experience not only sparked their creativity but also gave them a glimpse into the world of digital design.  


Minecraft Esports

A Battle of Strategy

Esports is more than just gaming—it’s teamwork, strategy and problem-solving. Our pupils put their skills to the test in a Minecraft Capture the Flag live match. This event showcased their ability to collaborate, think critically and apply digital literacy skills in a competitive yet friendly environment. 


Empowering Educators 

The Teach Meet 

Teachers also took centre stage during our Teach Meet session, sharing best practices for integrating EdTech into the classroom. From using AI-powered translation tools to interactive storytelling apps, these short presentations demonstrated how technology is enhancing learning experiences across all subjects.  



Retrospective on

Techsperience Week


We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our teachers, pupils and parents for their enthusiastic participation in the activities of Techsperience Week. Their support is instrumental in fostering a forward-thinking learning environment. 


At Wellington College Hangzhou, our educational mission transcends merely equipping our pupils to compete with artificial intelligence.  


We do not engage with artificial intelligence through confrontation, but rather through collaboration. The humanistic literacy we advocate is designed to instil in every pupil the values of kindness, responsibility, respect, courage and integrity. It encompasses the pursuit of truth, goodness, beauty, freedom, fact, will, emotion, equality and desire. Humanistic literacy enriches the human spirit, fosters independent thinking and individuality, and enables individuals to realise their true potential—this is the fundamental distinction between humans and artificial intelligence. 



This is also why we aspire for our pupils to be changemakers. We expect them to have a solid foundation of knowledge and to possess exceptional creativity. However, thinking and abilities cannot be acquired merely through instruction or rote problem-solving. They can only be refined and enhanced through real-life activities, interpersonal challenges and overcoming difficulties. This is the true essence of education. What we pursue for our pupils is not just academic achievement, but their holistic development. 


Therefore, in addition to our core academic curriculum, Wellington College Hangzhou has meticulously crafted a wide array of Co-Curricular Activities (CCA). We actively encourage pupils to engage in international competitions, participate in an annual musical production and embark on field trips that present real-life challenges beyond the classroom. These experiences collectively nurture their overall qualities, including critical thinking, communication, teamwork and creativity. 



We believe that the essence of education lies in unleashing potential and shaping character. Each pupil is a unique individual who requires not only the enrichment of knowledge but also the nurturing of their spirit.
