我们是二胎家庭。大孩子刚满8岁正在读小学二年级。小女儿刚满3岁读Pre-K。他们对于外界事情有不同层次的认知。但总体来说，我并不觉得有负面的影响。事实上，我希望他们在以后的日子里能记住这个特殊的寒假。因为孩子随着年龄的增长，父母可以和孩子从疫情发生的各个方面进行更加细致的讨论和分析，帮助他们客观的认识事件。

     生活上，他们非常享受对方的陪伴。因为这段特殊的宅家时间，我们一起创造了许多属于我们自己的快乐回忆。我们一起在客厅“露营“，一边拼拼图一边听古典音乐；我们几乎每天都一起看家庭电影，一起在网上搜索菜谱然后一起决定晚餐吃什么。

    We have two kids. The elder one has just turned 8 and currently enrolled in Grade two. The younger one is in Pre-k and has just turned 3. Their knowledge about “what’s going on outside” is at different levels. But, in general, I don’t see any long-term negative impact on kids. In fact, I really hope that they could remember this “special extended winter holiday” in the rest of their lives. When they grow older, we could have more detailed discussion about this disease outbreak incident from many different aspects which provides great opportunities for them to build critical thinking skills.

    In daily life, they enjoyed each other’s company so much. We created lots of great memories together.  We camped in our living room. We worked on jigsaws together while listening to classic music. We watched family movies almost every day and made family decisions on what to eat after researching on recipes online. 

       首先，父母应该让自己从生活压力/焦虑中解脱出来。我和孩子爸爸都认为，我们可以利用这段珍贵的家庭时间让生活慢下来，暂时放下作为成年人的负担。这一点很重要。因为高质量的陪伴产生于平静的内心。

我们都没有给他们具体的时间表，或者课程表。大部分时间就是如何认真的玩。有时候，我们也会选择一些平时觉得“太浪费时间”或者“没那么重要”的事情让他们更加细致的去学，去做。比如说，如何更好的整理自己的玩具房，如何根据用途分类自己的东西。还有会帮助他们建立关于病毒的一些正确的认知以及如何保护自己以防感染，为日后回归学校做好准备。

First of all, parents should let go of all the pressure/anxiety from daily life. We all agreed that we could take things easy during this precious family time and release all the burdens from being grow-ups temporally. Life could be as simple as just “eat, play and play more”. This is crucial because quality family time generates through peaceful mind.

        We don’t have a schedule or curriculum for our kids. Mostly， It is all about “play hard”。Sometimes, we explored things that normally considered as “time consuming /less important .For example, how to tidy up your playroom better and how to organize your stuff etc. We also helped them to establish a basic understanding of how the disease spread and how to prevent themselves from getting sick. These will better prepare them for school in the future.

       最大的变化是她不再害羞。她喜欢舞蹈，喜欢表演。她对待每次舞蹈课都异常的认真。在家也能很有个性的展示自己所学的新舞蹈。

       The biggest progress I see in Kaylin is she is not shy anymore. She likes dancing and acting in front of people. She was so serious about each dancing class in school. And she loves to show us whatever she learned at school in her own way.

我希望她学会热爱生活，乐观的面对生活给与的一切。

       I hope she learn to love life and stay positive in whatever situation.
