幼儿园已在2022年11月23日正式通过了国际文凭组织（International Baccalaureate Organization，简称IBO）的严格审核，成为中山市极少数的【IB PYP候选学校】之一！

需要具备哪些条件？

国际文凭组织（IBO）是世界上最具权威的教育组织之一，其不单单拥有着最顶尖的国际课程体系，对于它授权的学校更是有着极为严格、细致的审核流程。根据IBO最新显示，中国目前被正式授权的学校仅200余所，足以见其难度非同一般。

对于那些想要正式加入IB大家庭的学校来说，其首要条件自然是加入IB候选学校的队列。

而在申请成为IB候选学校的过程中，申请方不单单需要在【考虑阶段】进行多维度的综合自我分析，还需要在【申请候选学校资格阶段】向IBO组织提交正式的申请表和相关支持文件。在经过IBO层层把关、严苛考察和精密筛选后，才会决定其是否有资格成为一所IB候选学校，并授予官方认证。

面对严苛的申请标准和要求，中山市阿丁莱幼儿园却仅仅在开学2个月的时间便通过IBO的层层筛选获得候选学校的认证，这无疑是对幼儿园雄厚的办学实力以及国际化教育高水平的证明！

这成功的背后我们究竟做了哪些努力？让我们一起来听听本次申请的主要负责人Colby博士的分享：

对于一所新创办的学校来说，我们能在如此短暂的时间内正式成为一所IB PYP候选学校，这无疑是对我们实力的最高认可！

在申请期间，我们不但以强大的团队凝聚力落实了高标准的办学方案，还得到了在校家长及学生的一致信赖和认可。在致以感谢之余，我也将带领大家重新回顾这段时间我们所付出的努力：

1、对于学校及社区，我们制定了20多项与IB PYP相一致的园区政策。并根据每组家庭的调研制定了基于IB PYP课程体系的教学框架和语言政策。

2、根据IB PYP核心价值观及我园办学的实际情况，园区持续优化学生的个性化学习计划，以保证各个教学板块的连贯性和有效性。

3、根据办学使命与愿景，园区成立了特别小组对幼儿园整体情况进行了细致的审查。并与阿丁莱学院的整体理念和培养目标相结合，将IB学习者所需具备的能力培养融入到实际课程当中。

4、Colby博士经过了IBO的二次审查，再次荣获IB校长的资格认证。

5、在Colby博士与IB PYP协调员罗玲女士的共同带领下，全体幼儿园教师都完成了IB C1工作坊培训。

6、根据IBO的官方要求，园区经过多方的细致探讨和评估完成了5年预算计划，并完成了所有相关合作费用的支付。

7、持续加强与阿丁莱学院以及其他知名IB认证院校的合作，积极开展IB工作坊等学术探讨会议，在提升每位教师的IB教学能力之余，持续优化学校的战略计划和行动计划。

the kindergarten has officially passed the rigorous audit of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) on 23 November 2022 and has become one of the few 【IB PYP candidate schools】in Zhongshan!

What are the requirements to

become an IB candidate school?

The International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) is one of the most authoritative education organisations in the world. Not only does it have the best international curriculum, it also has an extremely strict and meticulous vetting process for the schools it authorises. According to the IBO, there are only 200+ officially authorised schools in China, which makes it very difficult.

For those schools wishing to join the IB family, the first requirement is to be placed in the IB candidate pool.

In the process of applying to become an IB candidate school, applicants are required to conduct a comprehensive multi-dimensional self-analysis at the Self-Consideration Stage, and to submit a formal application form and supporting information to the IBO at the Candidacy Stage, where they will undergo the same rigorous examination and screening process to determine their eligibility to become an IB candidate school.

Self-consideration Stage

In-depth knowledge of IB values, curriculum structure and the actual philosophy of the school is required.

Need to measure the capacity of the school, including but not limited to the official requirements of the environment, faculty, etc.

School management should be involved in IB workshops and be familiar with the programme and accreditation process.

Schools are encouraged to participate in IB-related development activities to ensure that effective decisions can be made in the future.

Sourcing and studying in depth the IB curriculum and other relevant literature.

Candidacy Stage

Complete a formal application candidature form (PYP/MYP/DP/CP).

Submit relevant supporting documents, including but not limited to mission and vision statements, organisational structure, action plans, legal entity, five-year budget and written commitment from the authorities to fund the project, evidence of local support and commitment to teacher professional development.

The IBO screens the forms and documents carefully and ensures that the school management has been accredited with the PYP.

In the face of the stringent application criteria, it took less than 3 months for Ardingly College Zhongshan(Kindergarten) to pass the official IBO selection process. Let's hear from Mr. Colby, who is in charge of the application process!

It is a testament to the strength of our school and the high standard of our international education that we have been able to become an official candidate for the IB PYP in such a short period of time for a newly established school!

During the application period, we have been able to implement a high standard class programme with a strong cohesive approach and have received the trust and recognition of our parents and students. I would like to thank you all for your efforts, but I would also like to take you back to our efforts during this period.

1、For schools and communities, we have developed more than 20 school policies aligned to the International Baccalaureate Organization PYP. We have also developed a framework for teaching and learning and a language policy based on the PYP curriculum, in addition to a study of Phantom families.

2、In line with the IB PYP core values and the actual state of the school, the school has continuously optimised the individualised learning plans for students to ensure coherence and effectiveness across all teaching and learning strands.

3、In line with the school's mission and vision, a task force was set up to review the overall situation in detail. This was integrated with the overall philosophy and objectives of Ardingly College, UK, incorporating the competencies required of IB learners into the actual curriculum.

4、Dr Colby has undergone a second review by the IBO and has been re-accredited as an IB Principal.

5、All the kindergarten teachers completed the F2F IB C1 workshop under the joint leadership of Dr. Colby and Ms. Caroline, the IB PYP Coordinator.

6、The school completed a 5-year budget plan and paid for all associated collaboration costs after careful discussion and evaluation by various parties in accordance with IBO official requirements.

7、Cooperation with Ardingly College, UK, and other renowned IB institutions has been strengthened and academic meetings such as IB workshops have been actively conducted to enhance each teacher's IB teaching capacity and to continue to optimise the school's strategic plan and action plan.

Future Journey

As a school that empowers children to be globally competent in the future, being an IB PYP candidate school is only the first step in a journey of a thousand miles for Ardingly College Zhongshan(Kindergarten).

On the road to becoming a full IB school, we will work with IBO officials to "develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people", and on this basis, we will continue to improve the school's mission, organisation and structure, curriculum and assessment system.

We believe that through persistent efforts in all aspects of learning, including philosophy, mission, school culture, facilities, teachers and curriculum, the personalised education services provided to students will continue to improve and children will be fully motivated to become outstanding future world makers in the 15 years of school's journey!
