As the first div of the school's K12 blueprint, Ardingly College Zhongshan(Kindergarten) officially opened in autumn 2022. Families who are interested in our educational philosophy are welcome to visit the campus and will be guided by our professional admissions teachers through the futuristic and technological environment, as well as being introduced to all aspects of the school.

Ardingly College Zhongshan(Kindergarten) welcomes all children who meet the age requirements for school admission. There are no restrictions based on Race, Gender, or Nationality.

Ardingly College Zhongshan is proud to carry on the educational genes of Ardingly College, UK, one of the top 10 IB co-ed schools in the world. We are proud to deliver a high-end private bilingual school offering a 15-year consistent educational pathway for families in Zhongshan and the Greater Bay Area. The school provides a Kindergarten, Primary School, Middle School, and Dual path Senior High School with an expected enrolment of approximately 3,000 students who may choose to attend as day or boarding students. Ardingly College Zhongshan(Kindergarten) officially opened in the autumn of 2022.
At the inaugural meeting of the International Characteristic Schools Committee of The Chinese Private Education Association held in September 2022, Ardingly College Zhongshan was named the first board member of the committee.

Holistic Education System
Ardingly College Zhongshan(Kindergarten) is an official IBO PYP candidate school, seamlessly integrating the essence of Chinese and Western pedagogies. The aim of the IB PYP is to provide students with an inquiry-based transdisciplinary framework incorporating 6 Units of Inquiry.
Additionally, we supplement our programme with the UK EYFS standards for learning, development, and care, which prioritises A unique Child, Positive Relationships, Enabling Environments and Learning and Developing. Lastly, we fully align with the Chinese Kindergarten 3 to 6 year-old guidelines which are crucial to building a strong foundation in Chinese culture and development of each child.
Immersive Environments
Multilingual Thinking and Development
Ardingly College Zhongshan(Kindergarten) aims to create a multilingual learning environment for all children. To provide a truly immersive environment the language must be used not only in the lesson, but throughout transition times, snack times, both inside the classroom and in the public areas of the campus. This is the only way to ensure an immersive language environment for students.
In addition, we provide Spanish language exploration as our 3rd language, creating additional opportunities for students and providing access to over 70% of the world’s languages.
In class, the proportion of English, Chinese and additional languages used in the classroom varies by age group in order to create a multilingual learning environment.

Approach to Inquiry
The kindergarten curriculum and framework incorporate the core elements of the IB PYP, and we encourage children to explore different themes, areas, and materials through child-centred play and inquiry, authentic scenarios and items, and targeted learning and activities. We allow children to understand themselves and the world around them through independent and guided exploration in a variety of areas.
There are six transdisciplinary themes that make up the Units of Inquiry (UOI). This Transdisciplinary approach while sharing a common theme breaks down traditional standalone subjects and integrates Language, Logic, Science, The Arts and Personal Social and Physical Education according to ability, interest, and individual contexts allowing students to think for themselves, take responsibility for their own learning and provide them an action point to continue to develop in a holistic way.
Physical Exercise
Combining Chinese and International Standards
We encourage students to be active and interact with their peers and to learn about teamwork and cooperation through sport. We employ a dedicated PE teacher to develop a bespoke PE learning programme for our students to develop core physical skills such as coordination, body control and gross motor development.
By incorporating unique sports such as golf into the daily PE class, ACZS(Kindergarten) empowers students to be strong and fit, but also to understand the character and spirit that can be developed behind the sport they are learning.

An essential part of our kindergarten offering is our STEAM-Based approach to learning which integrates multiple disciplines in our early childhood exploration activities, ensuring that children experience a unique inquiry-based learning experience in the classroom.
The world-renowned Juilliard School, known as the "Harvard" of the music world, and ACZS(Kindergarten) is proud to be working closely with the Tianjin Juilliard School, the first overseas partner program in the school's 100-year history. The kindergarten will cooperate with Tianjin Juilliard’s Music Essentials Curriculum offering a comprehensive foundation to music, delivered in an age-appropriate way - from 18 months to 6 years old - through experiential-based lessons and activities in music performance, singing, moving, playing and creating, and offers a progressive and comprehensive experience for young music learners.
Skills Development
Reading Spaces to Develop Core Skills
Developing good reading habits is particularly important at the Kindergarten level. During the day, teachers give children plenty of free reading time and divide the class into small groups for interactive listening and reading exploration activities. Reading in English and Chinese is an important part of the classroom experience, our Learning Corner and Library support children in exploring and learning to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning.

Mr. Alan Wang, of EVA Architects and former chief designer (education projects) of Perkins-Will, a world-renowned architectural firm, is an Australian and British Royal Certified Architect who served as the chief designer for our school. The design was created to be like it’s own micro-city, to encourage socialisation, creativity, and inclusion all within the Ardingly College Zhongshan campus. Our school spaces serve to empower our students with the core value of using spaces as a platform to enhance global leadership and global competencies.
As a popular entry in the architectural community in China and abroad, the school has lived up to its reputation by earning the recognition of highly renowned international organisers and organisations. This includes the Muse Design Award and the Golden Bund Award, as well as other distinguished awards!
The theme and inspiration of the kindergarten building is 'space', aiming to create an imaginative and fun space for children to explore. The kindergarten was designed in four divs to increase the accessibility of each div to the outdoor environment. Using the "windmill" as inspiration, the four arc-shaped buildings face different directions, allowing children to actively play and explore in an open and transparent environment.
In order to develop recipes that are highly in line with the growth trends of young children, Ardingly College Zhongshan(Kindergarten) has hired a professional nutrition team to revise the recipes on a weekly basis. Through precise calculation of dietary nutrition and accurate control of the growth characteristics of children, the nutritionists will work together with the kitchen team to create a healthy experience for children with "less oil and salt, controlled sugar and limited fat, and diversified nutrition".
At Ardingly College Zhongshan(Kindergarten), we have extremely stringent standards for the selection of ingredients, and we have invited a number of leading agricultural and livestock companies as quality partners to bring the children original fruits and vegetables, as well as high-quality meat and seafood.
The creation of a healthy, exquisite dishes requires both the best ingredients and the meticulous craftsmanship of its makers. The campus, where East meets West, is the home to a team of professional caterers who are experts in in their field, experienced renowned chefs and nationally renowned catering consultants.
