为了庆祝世界艺术日，东华文泽学校（TWIS）举办了一系列精彩的活动来展示艺术形式的多样性及其在人类社会中的意义。在世界艺术日庆祝大会上，来自MYP中学三年级的主持人Angel和Ayden以一架纸飞机作为开场，引出了源于著名画家达芬奇的飞机概念，他们还以达芬奇为案例，阐述了历史上的艺术家不仅仅只是绘画家，他们还在其他媒介平台上发挥着自己的无限创造力。

TWIS recently hosted a fascinating event to celebrate World Art Day, which aimed to showcase the diversity of art forms and their significance in human society. The event’s enthusiastic hosts, Angel and Ayden from MYP3, began the festivities with an unexpected surprise. They unfolded a paper plane, and the audience was amazed to learn that the concept of the plane originated from Leonardo Da Vinci, the famous painter of the Mona Lisa. Angel and Ayden also explained how artists throughout history were more than just painters, and they used a wide range of media to express their creativity.

世界艺术日不仅仅是与画作有关，还与各式各样的艺术形式有关。例如，电影、音乐和表演艺术都是人们经常忽视的艺术形式。除此之外，绘画也有各种各样的形式，人们可以运用不同的材料或不同的媒介进行艺术创作。在舞台上，我们的学生共同探索了微型艺术画、清明上河图、彼得里基夫卡绘画和苏州刺绣等。

World Art Day is not just about drawing and painting; it is about exploring different forms of art. Movies, music, and performance art are among the various art forms that people often overlook. Furthermore, paintings can be created using different materials and on various surfaces. Our students discussed Miniature paintings, Riverside Painting during Qingming Festival, Petrykivka painting, and Suzhou embroidery.

现场观众对艺术的新形式感到惊喜。来自PYP小学三年级的学生Phoebus还为观众介绍了钟摆画，即把装有颜料的容器挂在杆子上，让其利用重力在画布上来回摆动。除此之外，学生们利用配色原理，现场为我们演示了如何创作一幅溢彩画。

The audience was amazed by how much art they had been missing out on. Phoebus from PYP3 presented Pendulum Painting, which involves hanging a container of paint from a rod and swinging it over the canvas. The PYP3 students demonstrated how to create a spill painting and explained the color scheme they used.

事实上，艺术与各个学科有着千丝万缕的联系；一直以来，艺术为人类社会、文化、历史、经济和地理等领域提供了独特的视角和发展批判性思维的机会。在庆祝大会结束后，学生们有机会通过亲身实践各种艺术活动，如陶艺、造纸、自然彩印、书签着色、吹画和喷溅画等。

Art is intricately connected to various disciplines, providing unique insights, perspectives, and opportunities for critical thinking about social, cultural, historical, economic, and geographical aspects of human society. After the assembly, students had the opportunity to explore art through various activities such as pottery, paper making, nature stamping, bookmark coloring, blow art painting and splatter painting.

世界艺术日庆祝活动取得圆满成功，它让各个参与者对艺术有了新的认识，并激发了他们进一步探索艺术的兴趣。

The event was an exciting celebration of art, which left the participants with a newfound appreciation for art and a desire to explore it further.

在4月28日世界舞蹈日，TWIS体育馆内掀起了一场热烈的舞蹈狂欢。这场活动包括了舞蹈比赛、KNT女团表演、KAL特邀舞团表演和MYP中学三年级舞蹈汇演。中学部全体师生和家长们一同观看了这场令人难以忘怀的盛宴，有机会欣赏到这群年轻舞者的精彩表演。

TWIS celebrated International Dance Day in style on April 28th with an electrifying event featuring a dance competition and captivating performances by the talented MYP3 boys, KNT and KAL. The entire school community, including students, teachers, and parents, came together to enjoy the incredible talents of the participants and to explore the enriching benefits of dancing.

这场舞蹈比赛竞争异常激烈，评委组由教师Mr. Davy、Mr. PJ和Ms. Spring组成。评委们以选手的舞蹈基础、技术、舞台表现力和音乐性作为评判标准，对舞者的表演进行评价，并给予了每个参赛者非常有价值的反馈和建议，以帮助她们更好地提高自己的技能和表现。

The competition was fierce, with the contestants judged by a panel of experts consisting of Mr. Davy, Mr. PJ, and Ms. Spring. Using an on-site scoring system for real-time evaluation, the judges evaluated the contestants' performances based on their foundation, technique, stage presence, and musicality. The judges provided insightful feedback to the contestants, helping them to improve their skills and showcase their best performances.

各组选手的魅力表演令现场观众流连忘返，比赛结束时主持人宣布了获奖者名单，现场气氛十分热烈。世界舞蹈日庆祝活动取得了圆满的成功，现场的每一个人都感受到了舞蹈的魅力及其好处，这包括舞蹈能够激发无限的创造力，提高身体素质，以及增进社区凝聚力。期待大家加入我们，共同感受舞蹈带来的极致快乐！

The event was a massive success, with participants delivering jaw-dropping performances and the audience having an unforgettable experience. The winners were announced at the end of the competition, and the atmosphere was electric with excitement and celebration. Everyone who attended the event was reminded of the beauty and benefits of dance, including its ability to inspire creativity, promote physical fitness, and foster a sense of community and togetherness. At TWIS, we take international-mindedness to the next level by embracing diverse cultures and celebrating global events! On April 20, TWIS celebrated UN Chinese Language Day with a series of events to promote the beauty of the Chinese language and culture. Hosted by our students Joe and Judy, the event began with a video about Cang Jie, the legendary inventor of Chinese Characters. Following this, our students performed the song "Dear Travelers" and recited poetry and prose to appreciate the charm of the Chinese language.

在大会期间，PYP小学四年级学生组织了一场小型的中文知识竞赛，他们结合中国历史和科技的课文，对现场观众展开了关于中华文化的提问。大会接近尾声之时，TWIS中文组宣布了一个喜讯——两名PYP小学五年级学生CoCo和Phoebe参选第二届全球青少年中文写作大赛，荣获明星作家奖。这是TWIS学生第一次参加全球中文比赛并同时获奖，祝贺她们！

The event continued with a knowledge contest organized by PYP4 students, who combined four texts about history and technology to showcase their understanding of Chinese culture and history. The assembly concluded with an award ceremony for the winners of the Second Global Youth Chinese Writing Competition. Two PYP5 students, CoCo and Phoebe, received the Star Writer Awards, the first time TWIS students attended a global Chinese competition and won prizes at the same time.
