Campus Tour
The Beauty of a Scenic Campus and the Completeness of Advanced Facilities
"The campus environment is so magnificent!" the guests exclaimed during their tour.
From the outdoors to the indoors, Mr. Patrick Sherrington and Mrs. Diana Rose examined the learning and living environment of WASHZ from a professional and meticulous perspective. They not only visited the laboratories and observed the classrooms in the Lower School but also had lunch with students and teachers in the canteen.
The guests remarked that WASHZ, like Wycombe Abbey School UK, possesses a unique natural environment and carefully crafted campus landscapes. However, WASHZ has successfully blended the charm of ancient cultural heritage and the modernity of architectural spaces, showcasing the essence of diversity and inclusiveness advocated by WASHZ. It was a perfect integration.
Mrs. Diana Rose particularly appreciated WASHZ's Chinese Character Cultural Experience Workshop. The approach of imparting ancient Chinese cultural essence to children through enjoyable activities, while consistently adhering to the inheritance of Chinese cultural roots, holds great significance in an international campus community.
Teachers Talk
Full Recognition and Comprehensive Support
Mr. Patrick Sherrington and Mrs. Diana Rose engaged in detailed discussions with the Chinese and foreign principals of the Lower School and Upper School, the holistic teacher, the Head of Boarding, the Chinese and foreign directors of the kindergarten, the school-wide wellbeing teachers, the nursing station, and several subject teachers. They gained in-depth insights into various topics, including curriculum systems and teaching features across different grades, overseas university admissions, boarding characteristics, student physical and mental health, and parent-school communication.
After the exchange, the guests applauded WASHZ for its excellent and internationally diverse faculty with high academic qualifications and fully recognized the school's integrated curriculum. From lower to upper school, there is an effective focus on shaping students' understanding of Chinese cultural heritage and their global perspectives. The upper school principal and the guests unanimously agreed on the importance of guiding students to develop critical thinking and dialectical judgment in this era of abundant internet information.
Mrs. Diana Rose was particularly pleased with the achievements of WASHZ's holistic education. She expressed her delight in learning how students at WASHZ enjoy every day of their boarding life, from weekdays to weekends. She was also thrilled to see how the efforts of the boarding teachers have led to the flourishing of the authentic boarding school culture. Parents, who initially had difficulty distinguishing between "residential schooling" and "boarding school," now actively support and highly appreciate our boarding culture.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Diana Rose acknowledged the busy work of the school's mental health support teachers and praised the daily rescue efforts, health examinations, and proactive performance of the school's nursing station during the pandemic. She enthusiastically shared her experiences and advice with the teachers present and remarked, "Whole-person care is a challenging endeavor, and we still have a long way to go."

Attentive Listening, Sincere Encouragement
As members of the "Wycombe Education Advisory Committee" and entrusted with the mission of empowering every Wycombe student worldwide, Mr. Patrick Sherrington and Mrs. Diana Rose made a point to have face-to-face conversations with student representatives from the Lower School and Upper School during their visit. They discussed various topics such as academics, student councils, sports, ECA (Extra-Curricular Activities) choices, boarding life, dining, peers, and both in-class and out-of-class activities. They also took the time to attentively listen to the aspirations of senior high school students regarding their college dreams.
The guests praised the students' English proficiency and encouraged the students of WASHZ to not only focus on achieving academic goals and high scores but also pay attention to their personal growth and strike a balance between work and leisure. Mr. Patrick Sherrington reminded the high school students to cherish their precious time on campus and not to be burdened by excessive pressure.
