Pre K

Ms. Polly Coronel and Ms. Kirsten Hernandez

Pre-Ks had a delightful time exploring scooping and transferring using colorful water. Their concentration was impressive. We've also had fun doing the pouring activity using rice and cups, experimenting with different pouring techniques and discovering how the rice responded to their movements. It was not only lots of fun but also helped develop the students fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. The children had also learned about patience, focus, and the joy of exploration.

K1

Ms. Erin Wang and Ms. Sati Tadevosyan

During our Who We Are unit of inquiry, we explored our bodies and facial features by tracing and forming them using various materials. In our symbolic exploration, K1 continued to emphasize the letter sound "S" and the numbers 1 and 2. The children enjoyed collecting natural elements to decorate and describe the numbers and the letter "S". Additionally, we dedicated time to review the boundaries within our classroom.

K2

Ms. Mika, Ms. Sue, Ms. Red

The highlights of K2’s learning  journey this week have been exploring and creating their own family trees as part of our Who We Are unit of Inquiry, and learning about how to identify basic emotions and categorize them according to the Zones of Regulation. This approach assists students to associate emotions with colors. We’ve also had fun learning about some basic strategies to shift emotions to healthier zones.

K3

Ms. Emily Coffey and Mr. Dean Fletes

One of our most rewarding activities this week in Inquiry, was organizing Peer Interviews! So far, students have been looking inwards and focusing on their physical, social, and emotional characteristics - the Peer Interviews were a great opportunity to learn more about their classmates, and start to compare likes and dislikes. It was awesome seeing the kids interact and we got to practice speaking in full sentences and asking and answering questions in English!
