我认为是的，英国大学对A-level制度更为熟悉。因为A-level制度是英国的全国考试制度，也是英国学生大学入学考试的课程。如果学生希望进入英国大学，尤其是竞争最激烈、世界一流的梯队，如罗素集团大学和牛津剑桥等，这些大学许多课程和其入学要求都与学习A-level的学生直接吻合，比如根据学生在A-level学习中应该掌握了的知识和技能来设计大学一年级课程。

在A-level，你只要选择3到4门课，意味着你在两年内能专注在这些科目的时间更多、 有更深入的见解，因此在大学面试和入学评估时，更容易有出色的表现，一旦取得有条件录取通知（conditional offer），进入属意大学的机会就算接近９成了。

不会有任何劣势。今年，我们的A-Level学生收获了耶鲁大学、康奈尔大学、伯克利大学、纽约大学和许多其他美国著名大学的录取。A-Level、AP及IB课程都是受到全球广泛认可的课程。

美国大学会考察学生高中的背景，他们知道哈罗开设A-Level课程，所以不会期待学生修AP课程。相反，他们想看看学生是如何最大限度地利用哈罗A-Level课程的资源。

哈罗北京今年被剑桥、耶鲁、伯克利、加州大学洛杉矶分校、哥伦比亚大学、南加州大学等大学录取的学生都修了三门A-Level课程。我们与大学招生官交流后得知，他们不希望学生在哈罗课程之外上AP或其他课程。此外，我们不鼓励学生参加额外的AS或A-Level考试，因为这可能不利于申请。学校提供多种多样的机会鼓励学生参与到学校的活动中来，让学生更多的从中获益。

每年英国官方都会有统计公布该年英国学生考到A级成绩的一个平均值，因为亚洲学生们都参加了相同的考试、做一样的考卷，所以家长可以直接比较。比如今年英国的平均值是27%，而哈罗学生平均是60%的A*-A级成绩，就是超过了英国的平均水平。

在择校时，家长也可以在线上（参考网址请见下方*备注）查看英国独立学校平均A-level成绩的排名表（A-Level League Table），拿他跟想要为子女报读的国际学校平均成绩做比较，就能知道学校表现大概落在什么水平。

In my opinion, UK universities are more familiar with the A-Level system, as it is a national exam and a curriculum for students’ university entrance tests. Particularly for top universities such as members of the Russell Group and Oxbridge, for which admissions are the most competitive, many of their courses and entry requirements align directly with A-Levels. For example, their first-year academic programme may be designed based on the knowledge and skills students are expected to have obtained in their A-Level studies. 

In A-Levels, you are only required to choose 3 to 4 subjects, which means you can devote more time to and gain a deeper understanding of them over two years. Therefore, students are more likely to perform better in interviews and entrance tests. Once they receive a conditional offer, their chances of entering their target university are almost at 90%. 

There wouldn’t be any disadvantages. This year, our A-Level graduates have been accepted by Yale, Cornell, Berkeley, NYU, and many other prestigious universities in the US. A-Levels, AP, and IB are all qualifications that are recognised worldwide. 

US universities will look at a student’s senior school situation. They know that Harrow runs an A-Levels programme, so they do not expect our students to take AP courses. Instead, they are interested in seeing how our students fully utilise their knowledge and skills learned during A-Levels at Harrow. 

Harrow Beijing students accepted by Cambridge, Yale, Berkeley, UCLA, Columbia, and USC this year have all taken three subjects in A-Levels. We learned from the university admissions officers that they didn’t wish for students to enrol in AP or any other courses on top of their studies at Harrow. Furthermore, we also do not encourage them to take extra AS or A-Level exams, as it may be detrimental to their applications. Our school has provided a wide range of opportunities for students to participate in activities and benefit from them. 

Each year, the UK government announces an average score of UK students achieving an A grade in A-Levels. This is a comparable reference as students in Asia also sit the same exams and answer the same papers. This year, for example, the percentile for the UK is 27% while an average of 60% AISL Harrow students have scored A*-A, which exceeds the UK average.
