MUN Nanjing Report (Oct 13-14 2023)
This Model United Nations (MUN) event was hosted by Nanjing International School, and represents the first time that CISH MUN has attended a formal MUN event in person, as for the previous two years of the club’s existence all events were virtual due to COVID.
Over the two days, students had a packed schedule as they negotiated, researched and drafted resolutions in collaboration with their peers, then engaged in debate and finally voting on which resolutions to adopt. Each committee room had a dedicated Chair to ensure the process followed the format and rules of UN committees, including the format of the resolutions. On the 14th there was also some dedicated time for them to socialize with their peers from other schools. It was quite a large event, with over 100 student delegates representing several schools in Nanjing as well as schools from as far away as Laman International School in Chengdu.
模拟联合国活动报道---南京（2023年10月13-14日）
此次模拟联合国（MUN）活动由南京国际学校主办，是 CISH MUN 首次线下参加正式的模拟联合国活动，而在俱乐部成立的前两年，由于新冠疫情，所有活动均以虚拟方式进行。
两天的时间里，同学们的日程排得满满的，他们与同学们一起协商、研究、起草决议，然后进行辩论，最后投票决定通过哪些决议。每个委员会会议室都有一名专门的主席，以确保流程遵循联合国委员会的格式和规则，包括决议的格式。14 日还有一些专门的时间让他们与其他学校的同龄人进行社交活动。这次活动规模相当大，有来自南京多所学校以及远至成都拉曼国际学校的100多名学生代表。
For this event, CISH MUN sent 4 students and two teacher directors. Our student delegation was assigned to represent Malaysia.
Jackson Shi, Grade 10, participated in the General Assembly Committee 2. He was one of the submitters for a resolution that passed in committee with no objections. Delivered the closing speech during the final session of MUN, the special debate, with all delegates participating. He was named Best Delegate of his committee.
Yuna Hwang, Grade 10, participated in the Human Rights Committee.
Michael Shi, Grade 12, participated in Environment Committee. Delivered the opening speech during the final session of MUN, the special debate, with all delegates participating.
