探秘哈罗深圳课堂 | 给孩子们上一堂哲学课

新学期我们正在推出一门

适合于四、五年级孩子们的

领导力与公益服务课程“趣味哲学课”。



三四五年级组长Nicholas Benbow 说到,“哲学”一词的字面意思是“对智慧的热爱”,这是我们希望在孩子们学习和成长的旅程中教授给他们的理念。

为什么我们要给孩子们上哲学课呢?

其实哲学在最广泛的意义上专注于揭示我们自身、我们所处的世界以及人与周围世界的关系的核心真理。我们一直在思考如何培养孩子们创造性和批判性的思维,打造一个共同探究的学校社区。对我们而言,哲学不仅仅是赢得辩论的胜利,更关乎下结论之前准确地思考,理解并赏识其他观点和价值观。

在哲学课上,我们的学生们特别喜欢思考那个有名的哲学困境——“电车难题”。这个问题要求学生们考虑在一种情况下,通过采取伤害一个人的行动来阻止更多的人受伤,是否是正确和道德的决定。


这个引人入胜的思维实验有助于孩子们辩证地思考固有的道德观念,并探索决策时要考虑到的道德困境。因此,孩子们将更深入地理解,回答“什么是正确的做法?”这一问题背后所面临的挑战。


课堂中也会通过一些游戏和发散性思维任务来测试学生的批判性和创造性思维能力。发散性思维是一种通过探索许多可能的解决方案来产生创造性想法的思考过程。虽然我们在寻找一个“正确答案“时通常依靠收敛性思维,但培养创造性思维的能力对于哲学至关重要,也对成功解决我们的日常问题至关重要。


我们期待在本学期剩余的时间里持续为孩子们提供切实且有趣的哲学课。

This term, we have introduced an exciting new 

Leadership and Service Activities (LSA) , 

Philosophy for Children with Years 4 and 5.



The word 'philosophy' quite literally means 'love of wisdom' and is something we endeavour to instil in our students as they begin their lifelong journey of learning and development.

In its broadest sense, Philosophy focuses on discovering the fundamental truths about ourselves, the world in which we live and our relationship with each other and the world around us. We have been looking at how we can think both creatively and critically about the world around us, developing a 'community of enquiry'. Philosophy isn't about simply winning the argument. Instead, we focus on becoming more accurate in our thinking and gaining an understanding and appreciation of other ideas and values before reaching a conclusion. 

Our students have particularly enjoyed considering a famous philosophical dilemma called 'The Trolley Problem'. Here, students had to consider what would be the right, ethical decision in a situation where performing an action that harms someone would prevent a greater number of people from being harmed. 


This thought experiment has helped our children test their moral intuitions in a fun and engaging way as they explored the complexities of moral decision-making. They have a greater appreciation of the challenge of answering the fundamental ethical question, 'How do you know what the right thing to do is?'.

We have also enjoyed playing several games and tested ourselves with some Divergent Thinking tasks to develop our critical and creative thinking skills. Divergent Thinking is a thought process used to generate creative ideas by exploring many possible solutions to a problem. While we often rely on Convergent Thinking when looking for one 'right answer', developing creative thinking skills is integral not only to Philosophy but to successfully developing solutions for the problems we see around us.


We look forward to continuing to offer Philosophy for Children as an LSA for the rest of the term.
