It has been a hectic start to the Year, one teaching day on Friday, the weekend and then straight into the New Term.
Last year we said goodbye to some old faces and this year we have welcomed many more. Grove House started with over 50 students in 2023, some staying for the whole week, others for 5 days and a small number coming for a few days at a time.
We have definitely kept the students busy, with an extended EA programme that sometimes continues until 17:30 followed by homework preparation for the next day with a range of other sports and activities after dinner and well into the evening.
The canteen has enhanced the quality and range of food for the students and staff as well. Evening meal times are now a busy affair with a variety of choices and options up to 100 people in one sitting.
After dinner, students have had the chance to visit the library to read, play a variety of games in the sports hall and use some of the outdoor facilities and as well, including the running track and the mountain bikes. There have also been some teacher-led activities, including art, volleyball, basketball and golf. Our musicians too have had the chance to practise in the music room or play together in the boarding house.
All the boarders meet on the ground floor in the evening to chat, relax and play board games before finally retiring to their floors. Once back on their home floor, there is just time for a shower, a quick chat with home and a small bite to eat before bed.
For those students lucky enough to stay for the whole week we have had some excursions and entertainment lined up, including paddle boarding and kayaking on the sea, beach walks, trips to the mangrove and the sea turtle sanctuary.
Later in the year, we will have some more trips, a sponsored walk, a computer coding, and an art activity.
The winter admission activities and AISL 24/26 scholarship are launched! If you want to know more details about Harrow Haikou, we welcome you to choose from the following 10 options and scan the QR code to book your place!
