First Day of School

Highlight moments of the first day of ISA's new school year

共谱新学年新篇章

After a fantastic summer vacation, ISA has opened a brand new chapter. The first day of school brings with it new expectations and hopes for both our older students who return to school and those new students who have just joined ISA. At the Orientation Day, students and parents were given the opportunity to learn more about the teachers, daily school life and curricula, in order to help prepare students for their future studies. On the first day of school, ISA welcomed every student and looks forward to growing with them and creating wonderful memories together.

Inquiry Learning

ISA Tianhe Year 3 students started a new journey of UOI (Unit of Inquiry) based on one of the IB PYP themes, “Who Are We”. It surrounded the central idea – “Understanding the importance of physical and emotional health can help us to make informed and responsible choices”, which served as an entry point for a series of inquiry activities about health.

Students in Grade 10 Drama at ISA Science City recently took a cultural excursion to Shamian Island to explore the area's rich history.

Guangzhou, September 21, 2023 - In a remarkable display of cultural exchange and educational prowess, ten students from Guangzhou took center stage as tour guides during a special event organized by the Guangzhou and Liwan Municipal Education Bureau. Held against the picturesque backdrop of Yongqingfang, this event aimed to introduce foreign teachers to the rich cultural heritage of Guangfu and Lingnan.

The Open House at GZFLS ISA IBDP invited parents and teachers from other areas of the school to visit the IB class and experience the unique charm of the IB programme.

2023年9月21日，荔湾爱莎的10位中学生，在广州市教育局和荔湾区教育局组织面向外国老师的培训中，作为文化传播使者，以永庆坊为背景，向外国教师介绍丰富绚烂的广府文化和岭南文化。

广州外国语学校IBDP课程2023年下半年教学展示日邀请在读生家长及学校其他课程体系的教师一同走进真实IB课堂，真切感受IB课程的独特魅力。

On 11 September 2023, Mr. Alan Phua, Director of Admissions, and Mr Ervin Koh, Assistant Director, Office of Admissions of Nanyang Technological University (henceforth referred to as ‘NTU’), visited schools and programmes of ISA International Group separately for a valuable sharing session.

On September 22, 2023, the ISAIEG University Fair, ISA Liwan 2023 Fall was held at ISA Liwan Sports Hall. Students and parents from ISA Liwan International School, ISA Science City International School, and Guangzhou Foreign Language School ISA Wenhua IB Diploma Programme gather together, communicating with admissions officers from 30+ world-renowned universities to explore more about campus life, admission procedures, majors, and so on.

继新加坡国立大学和南洋理工大学向爱莎教育集团首届毕业生抛来橄榄枝，新加坡南洋理工大学 (Nanyang Technological University，后称‘南大’) 招生官于9月11日亲临爱莎教育集团旗下各学校，进行友好访问。

2023年9月22日，爱莎国际教育集团2023秋季大学展在爱莎荔湾体育馆进行。荔湾爱莎国际学校、爱莎科学城外籍人员子女学校以及广州外国语爱莎文华IB课程的同学和家长们齐聚一堂，与30+所来自世界知名大学招生官面对面交流，了解大学的特色和专业设置。

Highlights of wonderful events held by ISA schools

Competition on Campus

On September 23, the 2023 ISA Cup Swimming Tournament & the 3rd X-CEL Invitation Swim Meet co-sponsored by the Collaborative Innovation Centre for the Education of International Understanding, ISA International Academy, and X-cel Swimming Club was successfully held in Guangzhou ISA Science City International School. Nearly 1,000 parents，coaches，and family members watched as more than 324 outstanding young swimmers from more than 120 schools and swimming clubs across China came together to compete for glory and dreams.

2023年9月23日，国际理解教育协同创新中心、广州爱莎国际学苑、X-CEL国际游泳俱乐部共同主办的2023“爱莎杯”国际青少年游泳锦标赛暨第三届X-CEL游泳俱乐部国际邀请赛在广州爱莎科学城外籍人员子女学校开赛。近1000人现场观看来自全国120多个学校和游泳俱乐部的324多名优秀青少年游泳选手们汇聚一堂，为争夺荣耀与梦想而奋力拼搏。

On Teachers' Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, ISA schools organised various celebration activities in which students expressed their gratitude to their teachers, and confidently presented themselves on the stage in a traditional Chinese cultural atmosphere.

2023 ISA Charity Art Exhibition Collection Opens

Theme of Works

The theme of this charity art exhibition is “Care”. Authors who intend to participate in the contribution can focus on the following keywords: care-nature, care-society, care-weakness, care-family, care-history, and care-myself.

Requirements of Works

There is no restriction on materials. You can use any painting material for creation, such as oil painting, gouache, watercolour, acrylic, crayons, pencils, etc. Three-dimensional works, paper, and others are fine. There is no limit on the size of the work, and there is no limit on the horizontal and straight.

Submission Deadline

From now until November 3

Various awards won in prestigious competitions

高规格竞赛喜讯频传

During the past period, ISA students have achieved excellent results in various competitions. ISA Wuhan students won awards at 2023 Global Future Space Scholars Meet in China and the first prize in Global Academician Forum. ISA Science City students won the championship at the 2023 Haikou Cup Regatta Invitational. ISA Tianhe students won awards at 2023 SIMOC. Students of GZFLS ISA IBDP won awards at Student Investment Challenge.

In September, ISA Liwan held the Primary School and Secondary School (International) Curriculum Events where parents were invited to the school to meet and interact with the teachers.

To assist children in better protecting themselves, ISA Science City has incorporated child safety education into daily teaching and management, and the school also hopes that parents can effectively assume the responsibility and duty of guardianship. Therefore, ISA Science City organized the parents' college on the theme of "Campus Safety and Child Protection Courses", inviting parents to work together to strengthen home-school co-education relations and ensure students' safety.

9月，爱莎荔湾举办了高中、初中以及小学(国际方向)的课程信息分享会，邀请家长到场与教师团队进行面对面交流与互动，进一步深入了解并感受学校课程。

为帮助孩子更好的保护自己, 爱莎科学城学校把儿童安全教育渗透到日常的教学管理中,同时也希望家长也能够切实担负起监护职责和义务。为此爱莎科学城组织主题为“校园安全之儿童保护课程”的家长课堂，邀请家长携手强化家校共育纽带，切实保障学生安全。

Witness the development of ISA

共同见证爱莎的发展

The University of Oxford Alumni Network and ISA Science City jointly organised a unique alumni event. Alumni from Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Columbia University and many other world-renowned universities gathered at ISA Science City, where they had the opportunity to network and learn from each other, as well as enjoy frisbee, rock-climbing, and many other sports.

On August 14, 2023, the bootcamp for the 13th Harvard MUN China Conference was successfully opened at Guangzhou Science ISA Science City International School. Seven outstanding ISA student representatives participated in the bootcamp and will attend the official meeting.

2023年8月14日，第十三届哈佛模联中国会会前训练营在广州科学城爱莎外籍人员子女学校（ISA Science City International School）顺利开营！七位优秀爱莎学生代表参加此次训练营和正式会议。
