In IB schools, the holistic development of children is at the core of their education. Beyond academic excellence, we expect our students to cultivate skills known as 21st-century skills, soft skills, or transversal skills. Regardless of their name, these competencies revolve around effective communication, creativity, and teamwork, all of which are essential for their college and post-graduate success.

The Power of Speech Club

演讲俱乐部的力量

“中文演讲俱乐部”是TWIS传统的课外活动之一，它在磨练学生21世纪技能方面发挥着重要作用。学生们每周都会通过专业训练，提升他们的公开演讲技巧，练习对即兴问题的回应，并提供或接受建设性的意见反馈。这种全面的培训使他们能够从容自信地面对现实世界的挑战。

One of our enduring extracurricular activities is the Speech Club, which plays a major role in honing these vital skills. Every week, students refine their public speaking skills, practice responding to impromptu questions, and provide and receive constructive feedback. This well-rounded training prepares them to take on real-world challenges with poise and self-assurance.

The Toastmasters International Competition

“松湖论剑”国际演讲会

上周日，TWIS演讲俱乐部的成员们深度参与到Toastmasters International国际演讲会的“松湖论剑”活动中，承担了活动主持人、歌手、舞者、颁奖人、摊主等各种角色，为活动的成功举办做出了贡献。

Last Sunday, our students put their organizational skills to the test as they rallied behind the Toastmasters International competition. It was a day that showcased the remarkable versatility of our TWIS students. They effortlessly assumed various roles, serving as event hosts, singers, dancers, musicians, awards presenters, and vendors, all contributing to the event's success.

当TWIS的学生自信地走上演讲舞台时，无论是为本次活动，还是为他们自己的演讲经历，都留下了不可磨灭的印记。四年级学生Angel即兴分享了在学校参加活动的经历，赢得了全场的掌声。

Our students left an indelible mark at the event as they confidently took the stage and executed their assigned roles with finesse. Notably, MYP4 student Angel received resounding applause for her impromptu speech, where she eloquently shared how enriching her second year of participation in the event had been.
