All the students were elated to welcome Prof. CAO's arrival and meet him in person. Prof. CAO shared with more than 300 students and teachers on 1) how to look at the world through a design perspective, 2) how to develop a sense of beauty in our life, and 3) how to become a reflective being in this world of disruptions. 

曹雪教授的到来受到了学生们的热烈欢迎，他向学生们分享了如何用设计的眼光来细察品味我们身处的世界，做生活中的有心人。

During the lecture, Prof. CAO shared his understanding of design education and the profound messages embedded in his works such as his city logo design based on Guangzhou's landmark - "Canton Tower", and the logo of Sustainable Development Action Program - "Future with Bamboo". He also shared the story behind the birth of the Mascot of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, "Bing Dwen Dwen", spilling the beans on the difficulty of the design process and allowing the students to learn that all creative products are of hard work and perseverance. Prof. CAO also encouraged all students to face the uncertain future with curiosity and positivity, and to harness their vigor when faced with the prejudice of others.

在讲座过程中，曹教授以广州地标“小蛮腰”为原型的广州城市形象LOGO、“你好 • 中国竹”可持续性发展行动LOGO等作品来阐述他对设计的理解以及作品所蕴含的深意。不仅如此，他还分享2022年北京冬奥会吉祥物“冰墩墩”的创作历程，让同学们感受到创作之不易和坚持之可贵，以此鼓励同学们要永远以年轻的心态去面对未来，用自己的实力去颠覆别人的成见。

在问答环节，同学们积极争取机会，踊跃提问，现场气氛十分活跃。曹教授回答了学生提出的有关“出圈”与“跨界”等方面的问题，他鼓励学生“跳出框框”思考，走出自己的舒适区，从横向广度和纵向深度两个维度去深思细想，发展多样兴趣和爱好，在人生的各个方面增广见闻，体验人生，曹教授充满智慧的回应和分享，引发同学们深思，令他们明白任何设计背后都有一个理念，也是创作者对世界观察的一种表达形式，作品本身就是一个哲学理念和一种人生观的化身。

When rounding up, Prof. CAO encouraged the students to pay close attention to life and to look at things around them from a designer's perspective because the beauty of designs and the associated messages are always embedded in daily life.  In face of the challenges brought along with the rise of artificial intelligence, the capability of thinking deeply and upholding humanistic care in our daily work, to Prof. CAO’s, seemed to be the best way to sail through the high seas in the unknown era of artificial intelligence.

最后，曹教授还鼓励同学们要学习多观察，留心日常生活和身边的人情物事，用设计的眼光去看待身边事物，设计的灵感就潜藏在生活的方方面面，只有充满人文关怀的思考，才能使自己在这个人工智能崛起的时代不被取代。这也为同学们对自己未来的生涯规划带来了深刻的启发，明白无论时代变化的步伐如何急速，只要好好装备自己，凡事懂得分析细想，慎思而后行，创意自能滔滔不绝。

In the paper-cutting workshop, Ms. LIANG first introduced the origin of traditional Chinese paper-cutting culture and the difference between the techniques of northern and southern paper-cutting. Then she demonstrated some of her classic paper-cutting artwork to the students who were amazed and inspired by these pieces. Equipped with a piece of paper and a pair of scissors, it only takes a few moments for one to create a piece of work of paper art with great appreciation value in dexterous hands.

在剪纸艺术体验课上，梁玉英老师首先向同学们介绍了中国剪纸文化的起源，普及了南北方剪纸在技艺上的区别；随后更展示了一幅幅极具风韵的剪纸作品，这些作品让在场同学惊叹不已 —— 一张随处可见的纸、一把普普通通的剪刀，在一双灵巧的手上，只需片刻便能创造出一幅极具欣赏价值的艺术作品。

梁老师的讲解生动有趣，学生热情高涨并跃跃欲试，于是在梁老师的指导下动手制作起剪纸版的“冰墩墩”。在老师们的耐心指导下，同学们很快就成功地裁剪出了一只只唯妙唯俏的冰墩墩，兴奋的同学们纷纷拿着自己的作品让老师签名、与老师合影，留下美好的回忆。

据了解，广东剪纸已被选入国家级非物质文化遗产名录。学生学习剪纸艺术不仅能培养个人艺术情操，更是对中华优秀传统文化的一种传承。

剪纸艺术进校园，不仅让同学们了解到剪纸文化的底蕴，还能培养他们的观察力与专注力，锻炼他们的手眼配合能力以及空间想象力。学生在学习剪纸过程中不仅能提升自身的创作能力，也能体会到创作过程中的安宁与喜悦。

In the end, Director Yang concluded and commented on Prof. CAO's lecture to help students comprehend its profound meaning. She highlighted that Chinese design isn't just a copy of traditional culture, but a genuine understanding of the Chinese perspective towards the world. Additionally, she encouraged students to develop art while keeping this perception in mind.

课后，杨珍妮主任对曹雪教授的讲座进行了总结和点评，帮助同学们更好地理解讲座内容。杨主任还特别提到，中国设计从来不是对传统文化的照搬照抄，而是要真正读懂中国人看待世界的方式，而曹雪教授的行动正是讲好中国故事的表现。她亦鼓励同学们要怀着为国争光的情怀去进行艺术创作。
