TWIS Design Week｜5天，10个主题，TWIS设计周，带你走进学生的设计世界！

自2019年以来，TWIS已经举办了许多与设计相关的活动，如“游戏设计编程”、“节约水电行动海报设计”、“可持续时尚设计”等。设计课程贯穿于我们各个年级的教学活动中，这与IB跨学科教学的理念相吻合，鼓励学生在不同学科之间建立关系，并从多个角度思考问题。

Since 2019, TWIS has organized many design-related activities, such as "Game Design Programming", "Water and Electricity Conservation Poster Design", "Sustainable Fashion Design", etc. Design courses are running through the teaching activities of all grades. This is in line with the IB interdisciplinary teaching concept, which encourages students to establish relationships between different subjects and think about problems from multiple perspectives.

12 月 04 日，在 TWIS 设计学科老师的精心策划下，TWIS 首届设计周应运而生！我们以一场盛大的宣讲会拉开了活动的序幕，学生主持人向大家介绍了设计周的目的和意义，同时，学生设计师们还为大家带来了精彩纷呈的设计周活动预告。

However, on December 4, under the careful planning of the TWIS Design Department teachers, the inaugural TWIS Design Week came to life! We kicked off the event with a grand opening ceremony, where student hosts introduced the purpose and significance of Design Week. Additionally, our student designers presented a dazzling preview of the exciting activities planned for Design Week.

我们在为期5天，涵盖10个主题的设计活动中，为参与者提供了丰富多彩的学习交流和动手实践的机会。

During the five-day design event covering ten themes, we provided TWIS students with a rich variety of learning, communication, and hands-on practice opportunities.

Egg Drop Challenge

鸡蛋掉落挑战

设计挑战周以经典的鸡蛋掉落挑战活动开启，学生们运用物理学和设计原则来制作保护鸡蛋的装置。他们急切地等待着自己的创意作品下落的结果，这个过程展示了他们在压力下的批判性思维能力。

The design week kicked off with the classic Egg Drop Challenge, where students applied their understanding of physics and design principles to construct protective devices for fragile eggs. The air was filled with excitement as students eagerly awaited the outcome of their creations's descent, showcasing their ability to think critically under pressure.

Paper Craft: Exploring Different Plane Designs

纸工艺：探索不同的飞机设计

通过探索纸工艺，学生们的想象力得到了充分的发挥。设计和测试不同的纸飞机不仅激发了学生的创造力，老师还向他们介绍了飞机迭代原型和不断改进的过程。

The exploration of paper crafts allowed students to take flight with their imaginations. Designing and testing different paper planes not only fueled their creativity but also introduced them to the iterative process of prototyping and refining ideas.

Woodworking: Crafting Pencil Holders

木工：制作铅笔盒

在木工区，我们崭露头角的设计师们通过制作个性化的铅笔盒，感受了触觉世界的工艺之美。通过这种动手体验，学生们不仅提高了木工技能，还了解到设计的精准度和多功能性的重要性。

In the woodworking area, our budding designers embraced the tactile world of craftsmanship by creating personalized pencil holders. Through this hands-on experience, students not only developed woodworking skills but also learned the importance of precision and functionality in design.

Da Vinci Bridge from Popsicle Sticks

冰棍棒达芬奇桥

学生们用冰棍棒搭建了达·芬奇桥，传递了文艺复兴的精神。这一建筑设计挑战不仅激发了学生们对过去工程奇迹的欣赏，还让他们学习了永恒适用的设计原则。

Channeling the spirit of the Renaissance, students built Da Vinci bridges from popsicle sticks. This architectural challenge encouraged them to appreciate the engineering marvels of the past while applying timeless design principles.

Personalizing Shoe Box

个性化鞋盒

这个活动邀请学生在空白 A4 纸上用彩笔和想象力设计独特的贴纸，将他们的鞋盒变成个性化的组织者，以培养学生的创造力、组织能力和所有权意识。

The invites students to design unique stickers on blank A4 sheets with markers and imagination, turning their shoe boxes into personalized organizers to foster creativity, organization, and ownership.

Solar Oven with Aluminum Foil

锡纸太阳能烤箱

学生们利用锡纸的能量设计了太阳能烤箱。这种动手体验不仅让学生有机会深入探讨可持续设计，还启发了他们对可再生能源在日常生活中应用的思考。

Harnessing the power of the sun, students designed solar ovens using aluminum foil. This hands-on experience not only delved into sustainable design but also sparked discussions about the role of renewable energy in our daily lives.

本次挑战是学生们需要用锡纸设计船只并在未知的水域中航行。这不仅要求学生们创造一个能够漂浮的容器，还要理解浮力、材料强度和流线型设计的原理。Navigating uncharted waters, students designed boats using aluminum foil. The challenge was not only to create a floating vessel but also to understand the principles of buoyancy, material strength, and streamlined design.

Spaghetti Tower Challenge

意大利面塔挑战

该挑战主要是鼓励学生们利用意大利面和粘性胶带搭建稳定的意大利面塔结构。在挑战过程中，学生们面临着只能使用有限的资源，却要建造高大、坚固的塔的难题，这有效锻炼了学生的工程技能和团队合作能力

The Spaghetti Tower Challenge encouraged students to construct stable structures using spaghetti and adhesive tapes. This activity honed their engineering skills and teamwork as they faced the challenge of building tall, robust towers with limited resources.

Mini Catapults from Popsicle Sticks

冰棍棒迷你投石机

学生们将工程与乐趣相结合，用冰棍棒制作了迷你投石机。他们在有趣的实验中探索了抛物体运动，同时也学习了力和轨迹的相关知识。

Engineering met fun with the creation of mini catapults from popsicle sticks. Students explored projectile motion and learned about force and trajectory while embracing the joy of hands-on experimentation.

Hour of Code: Minecraft Adventure

编程一小时：我的冒险世界

设计挑战周以一小时的编程-我的冒险世界活动画上了圆满的句号。学生们沉浸在编程的世界中，将创造力与逻辑思维相结合，在虚拟空间中充分地解决问题和应对挑战。

The week concluded with an Hour of Code, featuring a Minecraft adventure. Students immersed themselves in the world of coding, combining creativity with logical thinking as they navigated through challenges and solved problems in the virtual realm.
