In early April, Harrow Hengqin held the Sixth Form Internal Launch Ceremony on campus, marking a new chapter for the school’s senior students who will officially enter the A-Level programme in September this year. Harrow Hengqin’s Sixth Form will focus on personalized education and help students to be well-prepared to enter top international universities through the A-Level programme system.
Dr. Max Caruso
Head Master of Harrow Hengqin
At the ceremony, Dr. Caruso, Head Master of Harrow Hengqin, delivered a speech which reviewed the school’s outstanding educational achievements over the years and expressed high hopes for the students about to enter the Sixth Form, emphasizing that the A-Level programme is not only a bridge to the world’s top academic institutions but also a critical stage in enhancing personal qualities and cultivating a global perspective. He encouraged students to seize the opportunity, be proactive, strive for academic excellence, and not forget to inherit the Harrow spirit, practice social responsibility, and become leaders of future society.
Ms. Kirsty Lowery
Deputy Head Whole School AISL Harrow Hengqin
As a Harrow school we follow the British education system teaching IGCSE and A level alongside the required CNC. A-Level are highly respected qualifications around the world and allow students to apply for the best universities including the top universities in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada and HK, China. Studying an A level course gives students the perfect foundation for studying at university. As a child I went through the British Education system. I have many years of teaching A levels too in the UK. I can say the foundation at Harrow Hengqin that IGCSE provides allows students to transition to the A level programme easily. The students will not only receive excellent teaching but be supported throughout their A level journey here at Harrow Hengqin. The students are becoming young adults, alongside the A Level curriculum they will be taught the skills needed to succeed at university: independence, resilience, study skills and leadership. I believe the students who study an A Level programme at Harrow Hengqin will receive the very best, they will achieve well and open up the pathway to the best universities with the guidance and care of the sixth form team.
The Sixth Form internal launch ceremony also had the honor of inviting Dr. Harley Seyedin, a Harrow HK parent who is the recipient of the 2017 Oslo Business for Peace Award and serves as the president of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China. Dr. Seyedin shared his valuable educational insights with the parents of Harrow Hengqin who attended the event. Additionally, two representatives from the Sixth Form of Harrow HK, Devin S. and Darren S., shared their valuable learning experiences with the students of Harrow Hengqin.
To support the diverse university application preparation of Harrow Hengqin students, we not only build a communication platform for our students with sister schools, but also introduce a wealth of academic resources and exchange opportunities to them for broadening global perspective, achieving excellent results and aiming for prestigious universities, with the help of AISL Harrow Schools.
