The QISS art show is a vibrant, exciting, student-led event. Every year, art students from Pre-K to Grade 12 not only decorate the school with their incredible artwork, but they also design and deliver interactive activity stations and performances. The theme of this year’s art show was cultural and biological diversity. Students displayed artwork from cultures around the world and depicted endangered animals from different continents. Art students in grades 2 through 12 ran over 20 outstanding stations throughout the upper school first floor, including paper bead making, weaving, blind contour drawing, sugar skull painting, and more. There was even a discussion station where students encouraged their parents to question the colonial legacy of 19th century European artists.

QISS艺术秀是由学生主导的一场激动人心的大型活动。每年，从Pre-K到十二年级的学生们不仅用他们精彩绝伦的艺术作品装饰学校，还设计出可以进行互动交流的活动和表演。今年艺术节的主题是文化和生物的多样性。学生们展示了来自世界各地文化的艺术作品，并描绘了各大洲的濒危动物。2-12年级的学生们在中学部一楼开展了20 多个活动，包括编织、盲人绘画、糖骷髅画等。学生们还建立了一个讨论站，与家长们共同探讨19世纪欧洲艺术家的殖民遗产。

QISS 예술 행사는 학생이 주도하는가슴 벅찬 대규모 행사입니다. 매년, Pre-K부터 12학년까지 학생들은 그들의 멋진 예술 작품으로 학교를 꾸밀 뿐만 아니라, 인터액티브 이벤트와 공연을 디자인합니다. 올해 주제는 문화와 생물의 다양성입니다. 학생들은 전 세계 문화의 예술 작품을 전시하고 각 대륙의 멸종 위기에 처한 동물들을 묘사했습니다. 2~12학년 학생들은 중등부와 고등부 1층에서 종이 구슬 만들기, 직물 짜기, 해골 그림 그리기 등 포함한 20여 개의 활동을 펼쳤습니다. 학생들은 또한 부모와 함께 19세기 유럽 예술가의 식민 유산에 대해 논의하기 위해 토론장을 설립했습니다.

The community also enjoyed a full lineup of performances. The event kicked off with a symphonic band concert led by music teacher Ms. Qi. Meanwhile, Ms. Bee’s upper school drama students gave a captivating performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Later, Mr. Morin’s world language students recited original poetry in French and Spanish. The event culminated in a traditional Maori Kapahaka performance led by Ms. Kate and Ms. Amanda. Behind the scenes, lower school drama teacher and early years art teacher Ms. Becca guided our pre-k and kindergarten students as they toured the exhibits, including the works of art they made in her class.

学生们还准备了精彩的表演。本次活动以Ms. Qi带领的乐队演奏拉开了序幕。与此同时，高中部的话剧学生们在Ms. Bee 的指导下表演了《仲夏夜之梦》。随后，Mr. Morin的世界语言学生们用法语和西班牙语朗诵了原创诗歌。最后，在Ms. Kate和Ms. Amanda的带领下，学生们表演了新西兰的毛利族战舞-Kapahaka。演出结束后，小学部的戏剧兼美术老师Ms. Becca带领幼儿园的学生们参观了展品，包括小朋友们在自己班上制作的艺术作品。

학생들은 멋진 공연도 준비했습니다. 본 행사는 Ms. Qi가 이끄는 밴드의 연주로 막을 올렸습니다. 이와 함께 고등부 연극 학생들은 Ms. Bee의 지도 아래 '한여름 밤의 꿈'을 공연했습니다. 그 후 Mr. Morin의 세계 언어 학생들은 프랑스어와 스페인어로 독창적인 시를 낭송했습니다. 마지막으로 Ms. Kate와 Ms. Amanda의 주도로 학생들은 뉴질랜드의 전통 마오리족 공연인 Kapahaka를 공연했습니다. 공연이 끝난 후 초등부의 연극 겸 미술 선생님인 Ms. Becca는 유치원 학생들을 데리고 전시물과 함께 관람하고 자기 반에서 만든 예술작품도 관람했습니다.

All in all, this year’s art show was a big success. The exhibit’s theme embodied the QISS value of inclusivity. Students also showed off their creativity. We hope you enjoyed the 2024 QISS art show, and that you’ll join us for next year’s event, too!
