Taking action is an integral part of the PYP and is an important aspect of a student's academic journey. Students are encouraged to take action not only in their academic pursuits but also in their personal lives. The IB program emphasises the importance of taking action to make a positive change in the world.

Through action, IB students learn to become responsible and engaged global citizens. They develop a sense of empathy and compassion for others and appreciate the diversity of the world around them. They also learn to collaborate and work with others towards a common goal, which is an important skill that can be applied to all aspects of life.

Taking action is not just about making a difference in the world, but it is also about personal growth and development. Students gain a sense of confidence and self-esteem through their efforts to make a positive change, develop leadership skills and become more resilient in the face of challenges.

Over the course of their unit, ‘Sharing the Planet’, students were inspired to take action by identifying and addressing real-world problems. They were encouraged to think critically and creatively about solutions that can make a positive impact on their community. Whether it was through community service projects, activism, or other forms of advocacy, students were encouraged to take action and make a difference. Students became responsible global citizens committed to making a positive impact on the world through collaboration, thinking critically and creatively, and developing important life skills that will serve them well throughout their academic and personal lives.

A ‘Nature Walk’ with Foundation helped foster an appreciation for the beauty and complexities of the natural world and deepen students’ understanding of living things through careful observation of various plants, insects, and animals in their natural habitats as well as their importance in our ecosystem.
