On May 18, 2024, the Citizenship and Social Development Section of ASJ launched the "Patriotism Education Activities: Visit to the Exhibition Center of the Troops Garrisoned in Hong Kong". In order to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Commune Department organized a visit to the Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Center to allow the Commune student campus ambassadors to have an in-depth understanding of the country's military history and the work of the People's Liberation Army Garrison in Hong Kong, stimulate their patriotism and love for Hong Kong, and help strengthen students' National identity.
The Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Center is located in Stonecutters Barracks, Hong Kong. It is a comprehensive exhibition hall that systematically introduces the splendid civilization of the Chinese nation, the history of the Communist Party of China, the national history of the People's Republic of China, and the military history of the People's Liberation Army in Hong Kong. It is a comprehensive exhibition center for the military to systematically celebrate the founding of the Communist Party of China. ASJ teachers and students walked into the "Bauhinia Star" hall, and the reception staff took our first group photo. With the guidance of the staff, we visited the Chinese Dream Exhibition Hall, the Strong Army Dream Exhibition Hall, the Xiangjiang Guards Exhibition Hall and the equipment model display area.

"The Great Steel Wall of the People's Army"-Strong Army Dream Exhibition Hall is located on the 3rd floor of the exhibition center. It displays more than 750 photos and diagrams and more than 150 pieces (sets) of objects, focusing on showing the People's Army's continuous progress from victory to victory under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The "Mighty Civilization Dinghai Shengzhen" - Xiangjiang Guardian Exhibition Hall is located on the 3rd floor of the exhibition center. It displays more than 420 photos and diagrams and more than 170 physical objects (sets), focusing on the vivid display of the troops stationed in Hong Kong in implementing the "one country, two systems" policy and maintaining Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability practice.
The equipment model display area is located on the first floor of the exhibition center. It mainly displays more than 90 pieces (sets) of equipment models of the Chinese People's Liberation Army's army, navy, air force, rocket force, etc., focusing on displaying the latest achievements in national defense science and technology and weapons and equipment construction in the new era.
The most impressive thing about this trip was watching the National Day military parade at the exhibition center. We stopped and stood in front of the screen to admire it and feel the shock brought by the march of the navy, land and air force!

"Hong Kong Sharpens the Sword, Hong Kong Guards"—this title has resounded throughout the country since the day Hong Kong returned to the motherland. This time I finally had the opportunity to see the true appearance of the Chinese People's Liberation Army garrison in Hong Kong.
For this event, we visited the Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Center located in the Stonecutters Island Military Camp in Hong Kong. The exhibition narrated from ancient China to modern China. I learned about our country’s past history and realized how powerful our country is today.
"Today's prosperous times are hard-won" - What impressed me most during the visit was the display of simulated weapon models, including the famous Dongfeng Express-Dongfeng 41 missile, the Wuzhi-10, which is comparable to the Apache helicopter, and can be used casually Aircraft carrier battle groups entering and exiting the first island chain.

One of them tells the story of Qiu Shaoyun, the most well-known hero of the Anti-Japanese War. In order not to reveal the location of his troops, he was unfortunately hit by an incendiary bomb and never said a word even though his whole body was in flames.

I was very lucky to visit the Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Center. As soon as I entered, I saw the national anthem, national flag and national emblem representing China. Among them, what impressed me most was the story of Guo Yonghuai. He was killed on a plane with research documents on the atomic bomb. He and another comrade carried the research documents between their bodies, and the plane crashed. I deeply admire them in my heart, because it is because of them that our country can be prosperous and stable.

Before entering the Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Center, seeing the soldiers standing solemnly, I felt a sense of awe without even realizing it.
