Learning another language in early childhood has many benefits, for example:
*Learning another language boosts brain development!
*Language acquisition most naturally occurs between 0-4 years of age, and if exposed frequently before the age of 8 a child is more likely to become fluent in the language.
*Learning additional languages and/or being bi/tri or multi-lingual improves overall performance. Having the ability to speak and understand more than one language often coincides with stronger communication skills, logic, and reason skills. It improves creativity and the ability to problem solve, meaning academic and social development improve as well as having another language!
*Learning an additional language creates cultural awareness, opening their eyes to learning about the world. This development can support children’s social-emotional development, improving empathy and an understanding of differences and similarities with others.
