G6-G8英语沉浸式课堂的核心理念在于通过跨学科整合与项目导向学习,让学生在真实情境中运用英语,从而达到语言技能与学术知识的双重提升。同时采用主题式的教学模式,涵盖戏剧、艺术学术研究等多元领域,使学生能够在实际应用中深化语言理解。课程初期将重点放在青少年音标教学,以培养正确的发音习惯,并逐步扩大词汇量,进而增强听、说、读、写四项基本技能。

为了确保学习效果,本项目采用GSE测试体系,定期评估学生的英语能力,在听说读写方面提供详尽的反馈。每个学习单元为期5-6周,期间学生将参与一系列的项目活动,如作品展示、表演汇演和小组报告,这些不仅是学习成果的展示,也是综合评价的重要组成部分。去年为期7周的试点项目证明,6年级学生平均提升了4个GSE点,者达到了8个点的显著进步,这一骄人的成绩有力地印证了该教学方法的高效性与创新性。

Shed the “Score-Only” Mentality 

and Find Your Own Path Early


With the announcement of the high school entrance exam results in the Greater Bay Area, many parents are anxiously exploring suitable educational paths for their children. Beyond traditional high schools and vocational schools, international bilingual schools have become the top choice for families hoping to see their children on the global stage. For students who feel somewhat unsatisfied with the traditional exam system and are seeking innovative pathways, transitioning to international education undoubtedly marks a new beginning. By planning ahead and transitioning early, students can fully explore their potential in an international educational environment and gain a comprehensive international education experience, better preparing them for future life at overseas universities. Many families have recognized that starting the transition from Grade 6 can greatly enhance their children's confidence and success in their future academic journey.


Harrow Hengqin has specially designed an English Immersion Homeroom Programme for transfer students in Grades 6 to 8 with a single class to assist students aspiring to attend prestigious overseas universities in smoothly transitioning to international education. This short programme, designed to be completed in a maximum of 12-16 weeks (one semester), aims to serve as a language accelerator for new members of the Harrow family who need to improve their English proficiency. Through intensive English learning, students can rapidly enhance their language skills. Once English is no longer a barrier, students can seamlessly transition into the British academic system's IGCSE curriculum, paving a golden pathway to world-renowned universities.

and Project-Based Learning


The core idea of the G6-G8 English Immersion Homeroom is to enhance both language skills and academic knowledge through interdisciplinary integration and project-based learning. The thematic teaching model covers diverse areas such as drama, art, and academic research, allowing students to deepen their language comprehension through practical application. The early stages of the course focus on teaching phonetics to cultivate proper pronunciation habits, gradually expanding vocabulary, and enhancing the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Teaching Strategies: 

Comprehensive Evaluation and Personalized Guidance

To ensure learning effectiveness, this project uses the GSE testing system to regularly assess students' English abilities, providing detailed feedback on listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Each learning unit lasts 5-6 weeks, during which students participate in various project activities, such as exhibitions, performances, and group presentations. These activities not only showcase learning outcomes but also form an essential part of comprehensive evaluation. Last year's pilot project, which was only 7 weeks long, showed that 6th-grade students improved by an average of 4 GSE points, with the highest reaching an impressive 8-point increase, proving the efficiency and innovation of this teaching method.
