7月28日，我校学生周子艺代表学校参加了由天津博物馆（后文简称"天博"）举办的天津市首届小讲解员比赛（高中组决赛），并获得“优秀奖”荣誉。

On 28th July, Linda Zhou, a student of Tianjin Farragut School, represented our school to participate in the Tianjin First Young Docent Competition (High School Group Final Round) held by Tianjin Museum and won the honour of  'Excellence Award'.

Linda Zhou was explaining 'In Front of Beiyang University Hall'.

In this competition, Linda Zhou from AP Class took the topic of ‘In Front of Beiyang University Hall’ to introduce the basic situation of the two education systems named 'Beiyang' and 'Nankai' in Tianjin, especially highlighting the important position of modern Tianjin and the key role modern Tianjin played in bridging the East and the West in the field of education, and her vivid explanation aroused the attention and praise of the judge and the audience at the scene.

Linda Zhou was accepting the Excellent Award (the second from the left was Linda Zhou).

She mentioned that as a cultural melting pot, Tianjin blends Eastern and Western elements to create a unique cultural landscape. The architecture, food and festivals we see in Tianjin in daily lives reflect this rich fusion and showcase the essence of Eastern and Western cultures. Linda Zhou's informative and entertaining presentation, infused with her pride and love for her hometown  'Tianjin', triggered a round of applause from the audience.

Our students were doing the explanation work voluntarily.

It is reported that our school and Tianjin Museum have started the joint construction since 2023, and we have gradually trained three batches of students to participate in the training and practice of young docents. A number of students have passed the examination to become public welfare young docents to help cultural dissemination for Tianjin Museum. In the future, our school will maintain good interaction with Tianjin Art Museum and National Maritime Museum of China, build the public welfare platform for museum-school co-construction, and contribute Farragut's power to the cultural dissemination for Tianjin.
