Justin同学是融合书院2024级毕业生，以优异的成绩被英国伦敦大学学院（UCL）新医学生物工艺（商业与管理）专业录取。UCL是2025QS世界排名第9名的顶尖大学，与剑桥大学，牛津大学，帝国理工学院，伦敦政治经济学院并称为“G5超级精英大学”。

Justin graduated from HZCA in the Class of 2024 with excellent grades and is now studying BSc in Bioprocessing of New Medicines(Business and Management) at University College London (UCL), one of the UK’s top universities. UCL ranks 9th in the world according to the 2025 QS Rankings and is one of the UK’s elite ‘G5’ universities, alongside Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial, and the London School of Economics.

落地伦敦的那一刻，翟同学就明白了“你若是厌倦了伦敦，那就是厌倦了人生。” 这句话的意义。伦敦古老街道和现代文明的碰撞，在流淌着英格兰血液的泰晤士河边走走逛逛，随处都是新奇与惊喜。

The moment I landed in London, I finally understood the saying, ‘If you’re tired of London, you’re tired of life.’ Walking through the city, where ancient streets blend with modern life and the Thames flows with England’s rich history, you’ll find surprises around every corner.

UCL校园带给翟同学最大的感受是“包容”。校园里人头攒动的报到日，古老的校园建筑和无数张新面孔。领取学生卡、听取学生会安排的新生讲解，开放的学术氛围和人文环境，UCL对一切都是包容的。

As for UCL itself, the best word to describe it is ‘inclusive.’ Picture this: registration day, crowds of new students, the old campus buildings, and all these fresh faces around me. Getting my student ID, listening to orientation talks from the student union—it’s all part of UCL’s open, welcoming academic and cultural environment.

大学的学习更多依赖于自主学习，对于英语不是母语的学生，全英授课需要提前预习好课件内容。翟学长以亲身的体验给融合书院的学弟学妹们一点建议，在高中阶段好好学英语，多用英语的思维去思考如何表达，如果高中全是用中文的思维模式来进行思考和回答问题，到了大学会有一个巨大的“语言阵痛期”。

Studying at university is all about self-discipline. For those of us who aren’t native English speakers, classes entirely in English mean previewing for lectures in advance is key. From my experience, here’s my advice for you: focus on learning English well and try to think about how to express your ideas in English. If you’re always thinking in Chinese, there’s going to be a tough “language adjustment period” in college.

初入UCL校园的翟同学摸索着教学楼的入口，里面满是陌生的教室，一切都是未知的、新奇的和值得期待的。课程的难度系数也许因人而异，但“好好学习，天天向上”是永恒不变的真理。

As I explore UCL’s buildings, finding my way to each unfamiliar classroom, it’s all new, exciting, and definitely worth it. The difficulty level varies from person to person, but “study hard and make progress every day” will always hold true.

学弟学妹们，也许一年后你们会在爱尔兰、东京或者大洋洲的某处，不过我更希望能在伦敦和你们相遇。但不论目的地是哪里，愿这场旅途，我们都能精彩地进行！
