Grade 1

This week in Grade 1, in our UoI classes, students demonstrated creativity and collaboration as they completed their small-scale city project. They added the final touches to their masterpieces, incorporating diverse elements such as cookies, chocolate, popsicle sticks, and buttons to bring their vision to life. This culminating artwork represents the skills and knowledge they have gained throughout Unit 2, showcasing their growth in visual arts and conceptual understanding.

Grade 2

In Grade 2, students focused on creating and designing lapbooks. The students enjoyed drawing, colouring, and using creative designs to decorate their work. They practised cutting skills and added pictures and facts about ancient times to their lapbooks. This activity helped them learn about history while developing their artistic and organisational skills.

Grade 3

This week in Grade 3, the students created QR codes that link to famous landmarks they have visited around the world using Google Earth. With the help of 'QR Code Monkey,' the students have embraced their creativity by redesigning colour schemes, importing images, and selecting designs for their QR codes, all while considering practicality and functionality.

Grade 4

This week, students finished constructing their Ancient Mayan city model. Having learnt about how to conduct archaeological digs to excavate and learn about the past, students used their knowledge and got creative to recreate an ancient Mayan city.

Grade 5

In Grade 5, students created their digital iMovies. With an opportunity to show their directing and ICT skills, students filmed, recorded and edited their movies about migration. Students then shared their movies with the class.

In Grade 6A, students prepared individual presentations on genetic mutations and how they can affect an organism’s adaptive traits and evolution. The students’ presentations were enhanced by visual aids, which helped them better illustrate the researched concepts and engage their audience more effectively.

In Grade 6B, students expressed their creativity in Visual Arts by designing their own prehistoric animals using either paper or iPads. They named their creations, identified habitats and diets, and detailed defining characteristics, along with the adaptations these animals underwent to evolve into the living beings we recognise today.

Students brought their imaginations to life by crafting textured paper with crayon rubbings for unique collages, painting intricate ceramic tiles, assembling dynamic paper collages, experimenting with bold palette knife strokes and impasto techniques, and coming together to create stunning collaborative masterpieces

Art is deeply connected to ICT within Grade 1 to 6 classes, especially by engaging in media creation such as digital painting, digital photography, stop-frame animation, audio and video production. The integration of art and technology in these lessons enhances creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression, making learning both innovative and meaningful for the students.

Grade 2 students learned the text "坐井观天," which tells a story about perspective and cognition through the dialogue between a frog and a bird. Students attempted to draw the sky from the different perspectives of the frog and the bird. The frog's view might be just a small circle, while the bird's view is of the vast sky. This contrast helped students understand the moral of the story.


This week, Grade 3 students learned how to write stories from observing pictures. First, they identified information about the environment and characters. For example, characters’ movements, expressions and backgrounds, etc. Then they analysed the people and objects in the pictures and named the characters before writing a story.

This week, Grade 5 and Grade 6 students continued to learn about "camping," before applying their art skills to create a mini tent. 


Grade 3 and Grade 4 students continued to learn about "pets”. Students used their creativity to make an attractive and practical toy for their pets.

In celebration of Kindness Month in November, the Lower Primary Library Club students read the story “Be Kind” by Pat Zietlow. Students learnt about the different ways one can be kind and were prompted to create their own ‘Chain of Kindness” - reflecting on their daily interactions with friends, teachers, and family, each student wrote an example of when they used kind words, helped someone, shared something and when they were good communicators by exhibiting good listening skills.

Chinese Maths

This week, Grade 1 students delved into the world of numbers 11-20, learning to distinguish between ones and tens. They practiced reading and writing numbers correctly. Students created number line art, visually representing the sequence and reinforcing their understanding of place value.


Grade 2 students discovered how perspectives can change when viewing an object from different angles. They learned to consider their position, direction, and the object's features. Students appreciated some artistic creations, which revealed surprising images based on different observation positions.


Grade 6 students studied the circumference and area of a circle. Through observation of daily life, students discovered and felt the artistic value of "circle" in the fields of architectural design, clothing design and other fields.

中文数学


一年级的学生进入了数字11-20的世界,学习区分个位和十位以及正确读写数字。学生还创造数字线艺术来补充这一点,直观地表示顺序,并加强他们对数位的理解。
