CISK Students Excel at Model UN Meet

On Saturday, December 14th, 2024, fifteen students from the Canadian International School Kunshan (CISK) participated in a Model UN meet at the Shanghai Industrial and Commercial Foreign Language School. Model UN provides students with a platform to develop their research, public speaking, and diplomacy skills while engaging in complex global issues. This year's event focused on the impact of AI on nations, exploring both the pros and cons of this rapidly developing technology.

Representing Canada, the CISK team earned an "Outstanding Team" award for their exceptional performance.  We were one of only four teams to be recognized.  Three students received individual recognition:


● Delin Hang (G9): Best Style While Speaking


● Tiger Xu (G9): Best Style While Speaking


● Conrad Prisament (G9): Best Communicator



The team was led by Mr. Leon Martinez, who dedicated his time to preparing the students, and Ms. Sunny Cho, who ensured the event ran smoothly for CISK participants. CISK's MYP Coordinator, Cliff Prisament, delivered a closing speech, sharing his insights on AI and its future implications.



Following the Model UN meet, several CISK students attended a gala hosted by the school. Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and dedication!


2024年12月14日星期六,来自昆山加拿大外籍人员子女学校(CISK)的15名学生参加了在上海工商外国语学校举行的模拟联合国会议。模拟联合国为学生提供了一个平台,让他们在研究复杂全球问题的同时,培养研究能力、公开演讲能力和外交技巧。今年的活动聚焦于人工智能对国家的影响,探讨了这项快速发展技术的利弊。

代表加拿大的CISK团队凭借其出色表现荣获“优秀团队”奖。我们团队是仅获此殊荣的四支团队之一。此外,还有三位学生获得个人奖项:


● G9年级的Delin Hang:最佳演讲风格奖


● G9年级的Tiger Xu:最佳演讲风格奖


● G9年级的Conrad Prisament:最佳沟通者奖



团队由投入大量时间准备学生的Leon Martinez老师和确保CISK参与者活动顺利进行的Sunny Cho老师带领。CISK的中学项目协调员Cliff Prisament发表了闭幕演讲,分享了他对人工智能及其未来影响的见解。



模拟联合国会议结束后,几位CISK学生参加了学校主办的晚会。祝贺所有参与者付出的努力和奉献!
