Each Unit of BeeMee Forest Academy's IEYC Curriculum has an exciting theme and developmental goals. Combined with the UK National EYFS Framework, which is based on holistic inquiry and game teaching methods, learning is tailored to meet individual learning and development needs of children. Through multi-cultural development and international perspective each child is prepared academically and emotionally as future global citizens.

In December 2024, the K2B class of BeeMee Forest Academy Xiangfu Campus has been immersed in the IEYC "Going Places" unit, an exploration of transportation, countries, and journeys around the world. With hands-on activities, creative learning experiences, and plenty of fun, the children have developed an understanding of the world beyond their own, culminating in an exciting end-of-semester performance.
在2024年12月,彼一米森林儿童学院湘府校区K2B班一直沉浸在IEYC的“前往各地”单元中,这是对世界各地交通、国家以及旅途的一次探索。通过实践活动、富有创意的学习体验以及诸多趣味活动,孩子们增进了对自身所处世界之外的了解,最终以一场令人激动的期末表演画上圆满句号。
Entry Point - Travelling the World

Our journey began with an exciting airport role-play activity. The teachers transformed into pilots, check-in staff, and security officers, while the children became passengers with passports, suitcases, and flight tickets in hand. The children checked in, passed through security, and boarded their “flight” to destinations around the world. This immersive experience sparked their curiosity and excitement, setting the tone for their exploration of the world and its cultures.

Capturing Curiosity - Choosing Our Destinations

To spark curiosity and engagement, the children created their own passports, decorating them with their names and pictures. They then chose destinations for their imaginary journeys, deciding where their tickets would take them. This activity encouraged the children to think about the world beyond their immediate environment and make personal connections to the learning journey.
为了激发好奇心和参与度,孩子们制作了属于他们自己的护照,用自己的名字和照片来装饰护照。随后,他们为自己想象中的旅途选择目的地,决定机票将会带他们去往何处。这一活动鼓励孩子们去思考自身周边环境之外的世界,并与学习之旅建立起个人联系。
By selecting their destinations, the children gained ownership of their learning experience, which not only enhanced their creativity but also improved their understanding of geography and the concept of travel.

Enable the Environment - A World in the Classroom

Our classroom environment was transformed to reflect the diversity of the world. Maps and flags from various countries were displayed, alongside jet planes, helicopters, and parachute figures, which the children used as props to “travel” to different destinations. These playful additions encouraged imaginative exploration, sparked curiosity about the world, and allowed the children to engage with their learning in a fun and meaningful way.

The Big Picture - Celebrating Cultures

The children explored festivals celebrated worldwide, such as Spring Festival, Diwali, and Christmas. Through hands-on activities, they gained a deeper appreciation of cultural diversity.
孩子们探索了世界各地庆祝的节日,比如春节、排灯节和圣诞节。通过实践活动,他们对文化多样性有了更深的理解和欣赏。
They made Krathongs inspired by Thailand’s Loy Krathong festival using banana leaves and logs.

They decorated class Christmas trees and created their own paper trees with baubles, improving their coordination and fine motor skills.

They explored the significance of Spring Festival and decorated a tree in our forest school with ornaments representing various global celebrations. These activities helped the children connect with cultural traditions and see the beauty in diversity.

Explore and Express - Creative Connections

Throughout the unit, the children expressed their learning creatively. They made world flag collages, practised saying “Happy New Year” in multiple languages, and rehearsed for their final performance. They also honed their teamwork and problem-solving skills while designing festive decorations and creating their Krathongs.
在整个单元学习过程中,孩子们以富有创意的方式展现他们所学的知识。他们制作了世界各国国旗的拼贴画,练习用多种语言说“新年快乐”,还为期末演出进行排练。在设计节日装饰品以及制作水灯时,他们也锻炼了团队协作能力和解决问题的能力。
Our rehearsals were particularly exciting. The children practised standing in their spots, singing, dancing, and playing instruments with enthusiasm. This not only prepared them for their performance but also built their confidence and collaboration skills.

Exit Point - End-of-Semester Performance

The children’s learning journey culminated in a spectacular winter performance, where K2B showcased their understanding of continents and cultures. They performed a unique song, wishing the audience a Happy New Year in various languages and representing countries from around the world. Their ability to confidently stand on stage, follow cues, and perform as a team highlighted the progress they made throughout the unit. Parents and teachers were delighted by their enthusiasm, creativity, and effort.
孩子们的学习之旅在一场精彩绝伦的冬季演出中达到了顶峰,K2B班的孩子们在这场演出中展示了他们对各大洲及不同文化的理解。他们演唱了一首别具一格的歌曲,用多种语言向观众送上新年祝福,呈现了世界各国的特色。他们能够自信地站在舞台上,听从提示,并作为一个团队进行表演,这凸显出他们在整个单元学习过程中所取得的进步。家长和老师们都为他们的热情、创造力和付出感到欣喜。
The "Going Places" unit has been an enriching experience for K2B, fostering a global mindset and important developmental skills. Through role play, messy play, and collaborative projects, the children have grown in their confidence, communication, and understanding of the world around them.
“前往各地”这一单元对K2B班的孩子们来说是一次收获颇丰的体验,培养了他们的全球视野以及重要的发展技能。通过角色扮演、趣味手工活动以及合作项目,孩子们在自信心、沟通能力以及对周围世界的理解方面都得到了成长。
