清北双录取的成功密码——OCIS优秀毕业生Nana专访

我是理科生，选择A-Level课程是因为我想更加专注于理科的学习。A-Level课程提供了深度学习的机会，同时有很大的灵活性，让我可以选择自己感兴趣的科目，尤其是与工学相关的内容，这与我的未来目标非常契合。更重要的是，A-Level注重培养学生的独立学习能力和逻辑思维能力，这对于我未来的专业学习非常有帮助。

As a science-oriented student, I opted for the A-Level program because it allows me to dive deeper into my passion for the sciences. The program not only offers a rigorous and focused curriculum but also provides the flexibility to tailor my studies to my interests, particularly in engineering-related subjects, which align closely with my long-term aspirations. What’s more, the A-Level program places a strong emphasis on developing independent learning and critical thinking skills—qualities that are essential for my future academic and professional growth.

我选择的科目是数学、化学、物理和进阶数学。这些科目之间有很强的关联性，加上我对这些科目本身就很感兴趣，所以在学习中保持平衡对我来说并不是一个很大的挑战。我的学习方法可以总结为以下四个步骤：

第一步，在课堂上尽可能完全消化当天的内容；

第二步，在复习阶段在白纸上整理和总结知识点，确保对核心概念有更深刻的理解；

第三步，通过大量的习题练习也称为”刷题”，将知识点进行巩固和串联；

第四步，在考试前几天集中复习所有的错题，强化薄弱环节。

我认为最重要的是找到适合自己的学习方法，因为每个人的学习方式和节奏都有所不同，找到并坚持自己的方法才是关键。

I’m currently studying Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Further Mathematics. These subjects are highly interconnected, and because I’m genuinely passionate about them, balancing them hasn’t been too difficult for me. My approach to studying can be broken down into four key steps:

1. Master the material in class: I make sure to fully grasp the day’s lessons while I’m still in class, asking questions and clarifying doubts immediately.

2. Summarize and organize: During revision, I jot down and condense key concepts on blank paper. This helps me solidify my understanding of the core ideas and see the bigger picture.

3. Practice relentlessly: I reinforce my knowledge by working through a ton of practice problems. This not only helps me apply what I’ve learned but also connects different concepts together.

4.Review mistakes before exams: In the days leading up to an exam, I focus on revisiting my past errors to identify and strengthen any weak areas. 

Ultimately, I think the key is finding a study method that works for you. Everyone learns differently, so it’s important to figure out what suits your style and stick with it.

清华大学非常注重学生的学科认知能力和课外活动经历。在我的EPQ论文中，我选择了一个与未来发展方向密切相关的工学主题，并深入研究，这为我的申请增添了很大的亮点。而对于北大，我申请的是无笔试项目，A-Level成绩显然是最重要的一个因素。但同时，我认为北大非常看重申请者的中文表达能力和理性思维的展现。因此，我在准备申请时特别注重用清晰且逻辑严谨的方式表达自己的观点，努力展现出我在这些方面的优势。

Personally, I think Tsinghua University places great emphasis on students’ academic understanding and extracurricular activities. In my EPQ paper, I chose a topic closely related to my future career path in engineering and conducted in-depth research, which added a strong highlight to my application.

As for Peking University, I applied to a program without a written test, so A-Level grades were clearly the most critical factor. However, I believe that Peking University highly values applicants’ abilities in Chinese expression and logical thinking. Therefore, during the preparation process, I focused on presenting my ideas in a clear and logical manner, showcasing my strengths in these areas.

组建机器人社团

作为国际学校的学生，我遇到的最大挑战之一是需要翻译和公证大量的申请材料。这不仅花费了大量的时间和费用，还需要严格按照国内高校的要求准备文档。在这个过程中，我和学校的申请指导老师们紧密合作，他们为我提供了很多帮助，确保每一份材料都能够符合要求。此外，我还主动学习如何用中文撰写文书和准备面试内容，以此来克服语言和文化上的差异。这些努力让我能够顺利完成整个申请过程。

One of the most significant challenges I faced as an international school student was the need to translate and notarize a substantial amount of application documents. This process was not only time-consuming and costly but also required strict adherence to the specific guidelines set by domestic universities. To navigate this, I worked closely with my school’s college counselors, who provided invaluable guidance and support to ensure that every document met the required standards. Additionally, I proactively worked on improving my ability to write essays in Chinese and prepared extensively for interviews, which helped me bridge the gap in language and cultural differences. These steps were instrumental in enabling me to successfully complete the application process.

我认为整个学习和申请过程中最大的收获是明确了自己的兴趣方向，并在此基础上不断深入学习和实践。从小我对工学就有浓厚的兴趣，但这不仅仅是兴趣使然，更是因为我在学习的每个阶段都不断反思自己真正想要做什么，并为之全力以赴。我坚信，找到自己热爱的领域并为之付出努力，是实现目标的关键。

对于未来的学弟学妹们，我的建议是：“不要害怕探索，努力寻找自己真正感兴趣的方向。一旦找到，就专注于它，并全身心投入。”兴趣和目标就像开启成功之门的钥匙，而真正将这把钥匙转动并打开大门的，是你的决心和坚持。

I believe the most significant takeaway from this process was gaining clarity about my interests and using that as a foundation to dive deeper into learning and practical application. While I’ve had a strong passion for engineering since childhood, it was through consistent self-reflection at every stage of my education that I solidified my goals and dedicated myself to achieving them.

 To future students, my advice is: “Don’t hesitate to explore and actively seek out what genuinely excites you. Once you find it, commit to it wholeheartedly.” Interests and goals are like the key to unlocking success, but it’s your determination and perseverance that ultimately turn the key and open the door.

OCIS给我的最大感受是老师们的专业性和责任心，这也是我选择这所学校的重要原因之一。每一位老师都非常认真地对待自己的工作，他们的敬业精神深深地感染了我和我的同学们。同时，学校的两位申请老师也为我的申请过程提供了极大的支持，帮助我解决了申请中的各种问题。此外，OCIS的自由氛围让我能够自由地探索自己的兴趣，而不受其他因素的干扰。这种环境让我可以更加专注于专业方向的学习和目标的实现。衷心感谢OCIS的每一位老师！

What stood out to me most at OCIS was the teachers' professionalism and dedication, which was one of the key reasons I chose this school. Every teacher demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to their work, and their passion left a lasting impression on me and my classmates. Additionally, the two college counselors at OCIS provided invaluable support throughout my application process, helping me navigate and resolve various challenges along the way.  

What I also appreciated was the school's open and flexible learning environment, which allowed me to freely explore my interests without unnecessary constraints. This atmosphere enabled me to focus more deeply on my academic pursuits and work toward achieving my goals. I am truly grateful to all the teachers at OCIS for their guidance and encouragement throughout my journey.

As the new year dawned, Nana received yet another accolade: an offer from the University of Manchester. In the years to come, whether at China's elite institutions or on the global stage, her dedication and hard work will undoubtedly continue to set her apart. Her story will inspire generations of OCIS students to chase their dreams fearlessly, navigating the interdiv of diverse and international educational approaches to carve out their own paths and shine brightly on the world's academic stage.
