On February 17, 2025, UEC International School grandly held the 2025 Spring Opening Ceremony. As the morning sun rose, the campus was filled with an atmosphere of youth and vitality. All teachers and students gathered together to embark on a new semester and welcome a new era.

The ceremony began with an enthusiastic opening by the host, Chu. As the solemn national anthem played, all teachers and students stood in silence, filled with anticipation and hope for the new semester. Subsequently, Principal Liang and Principal Jessie delivered their speeches, infusing the ceremony with profound thoughts and inspiration.

    梁校长鼓励同学们在快速变化的全球化时代中，保持自己的努力方向，坚定目标，勇敢追梦。他强调，无论是学术突破还是个人成长，同学们都应以明确的目标为指引，具备独立思考的能力，在不同的路口做出明智的选择。同时践行“三心”：学习上的进取心、生活上的自信心、社会上的责任心。

Principal Liang encouraged students to maintain their direction of effort, stay firm in their goals, and bravely pursue their dreams in this rapidly changing era of globalization. He emphasized that whether it is academic breakthroughs or personal growth, students should be guided by clear goals, possess the ability to think independently, and make wise choices at different crossroads. At the same time, they should practice the "Three Hearts": a proactive heart in learning, a confident heart in life, and a responsible heart in society.

Principal Jessie began by reviewing the remarkable achievements of the students in the past semester—all members of the Class of 2025 received offers from prestigious universities ranked within the top 50 in the QS World University Rankings. This growth belongs to the students and is also a source of pride for the school.

Principal Jessie focused on technology and innovation, mentioning that cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence are profoundly changing the world. Using DeepSeek as an example, she encouraged students not only to excel in their academic subjects but also to keep up with technological advancements and cultivate interdisciplinary thinking and innovative abilities. She specifically mentioned the blockbuster movie "Ne Zha 2" during the winter break, quoting the director Jiaozi: "What is the most important thing when venturing out? First, you have to venture out." This was used to inspire students to bravely take the first step and step out of their comfort zones. She hopes that students will look to the future, focus on their current studies, and also have a long-term vision. She encouraged new students not to feel lost or nervous and expected graduating students to move towards a broader future with firm beliefs and a stance of giving one's all attitude.

In addition to the wonderful speeches, the rich awards segment also injected new motivation into everyone. The school specially recognized students who excelled in academics, talents, and volunteer activities. They not only demonstrated outstanding academic abilities in the classroom but also shone in campus activities and social practices. Particularly, those who received the "Full Marks in Major Exams Award" and the "Rapid Progress Award" proved the power of perseverance and hard work through their actions.

Furthermore, the school also recognized outstanding teachers and teams. Teachers are not only knowledge transmitters but also guides and companions on the students' growth journey. With love and a sense of responsibility, teachers provide a solid foundation for each student's growth. From excellent homeroom teachers to subject teachers, from the academic affairs team to the counseling team, every teacher is dedicated to the students' growth, and their efforts and dedication showcase UEC's spirit of pursuing excellence.

Zhu, a student who received an interview invitation from Imperial College London, shared her learning and application experiences as a student representative. She advised her juniors to listen more, ask more questions, and make careful revisions based on teachers' feedback.

She mentioned that during the application season, students may face a lot of pressure, and the choice of major might be adjusted based on actual circumstances, which are all very normal situations. She provided a wealth of firsthand information for her juniors, encouraging them to trust their teachers and work closely with the school's college counselors, assuring them that satisfactory results would be achieved.

Max, a teacher representative, shared his work experiences from the previous semester. He mentioned the cheerful yet rigorous work atmosphere and expressed his delight in the growth and progress of the students.

At the same time, school clubs were also recognized. Clubs such as basketball, badminton, dance, anime, photography, and script reasoning not only enriched campus culture but also provided a platform for students to showcase themselves. Club members actively participated in various activities, demonstrating their talents and team spirit. Especially the club presidents, through their relentless efforts and organizational skills, led their clubs towards a more brilliant future.

At the end of the ceremony, all teachers and students watched a blessing video from overseas graduates. These alumni, who are making their mark around the world, set an example for their juniors and showcased the global influence of UEC education. Their success is a source of pride and inspiration for all UEC students.

Finally, the wonderful performance of the song "Surging" brought the ceremony to a perfect close.
