开学伊始，孩子们怀揣着憧憬与期待，许下美好心愿，并将承载着心愿的瓶子挂上。现场有猜灯谜活动，孩子们聚精会神解谜。滚瓶子赢礼物环节更是热闹，大家紧盯滚动的瓶子，盼着赢得心仪礼物。

At the beginning of the school year, children, filled with anticipation and hope, make their wishes and hang bottles carrying these wishes. There is a guessing game of lantern riddles, where children concentrate on solving the puzzles. The bottle rolling game for winning gifts is even more lively, with everyone intently watching the rolling bottles, hoping to win their desired gifts. 

紧接着，一场庄重而热烈的开学典礼拉开帷幕。在激昂的国歌声中，五星红旗冉冉升起，孩子们目光坚定，满是对新学期的向往。哥哥姐姐们在国旗下的讲话，如同一盏盏明灯，为弟弟妹妹们照亮前行的方向，也为新学期注入了蓬勃的动力。与此同时，各班级的第一次家长会有序开展，家园共育的桥梁在真诚的交流与沟通中搭建得更加稳固，为孩子们的成长奠定坚实基础。

A formal yet lively opening ceremony begins. With the stirring national anthem playing, the Chinese flag rises slowly, and the children look on with determination, full of longing for the new semester. The speeches under the flag by older brothers and sisters are like beacons, illuminating the way forward for the younger ones and injecting vigorous momentum into the new semester. Their drawings may be simple, yet they are filled with innocence and imagination. Each paper lantern seems to be imbued with life.

K2 Rolling Rice Dumplings: Inside K2's classroom, it's bustling with excitement as children work together in teams. Some are meticulously crafting lanterns of various shapes, showcasing their unique aesthetic sense and creativity; others are fully immersed in the sweet dumpling rolling game, working together to push the plump, white dumplings around the plate in a joyful roll, with waves of laughter and joy conveying the festive spirit and warmth of the Lantern Festival.

They also engaged in musical activities, earnestly learning to sing "Selling Sweet Rice Dumplings" with the aid of visual scores, further appreciating the lively atmosphere of the Lantern Festival through the cheerful melody. This not only enhanced their practical skills but also deepened their understanding and love for traditional culture.

K3 Explore the Meaning of Love: The children of K3 sat together in a circle, engaging in a lively discussion about the meaning of "love." Through reading vivid and interesting stories, they understood that love is not limited to family members but should also extend to friends and everyone around them. During the sharing session, the children opened their hearts, expressing their love for others and the reasons behind it, learning to care and be grateful, and spent a meaningful Valentine's Day.

安全教育：筑牢防线，守护成长

安全是幼儿园工作的核心要点，本月我们开展了一系列全面且细致的安全教育活动，致力于为孩子们筑牢安全防线。在防火演习中，警报声一响，孩子们迅速行动，湿毛巾捂住口鼻、弯腰沿着预定路线有序撤离到户外操场，顺利掌握火灾逃生技能。乘车安全教育环节，借助生动动画视频展示正确乘车方式，老师再用玩具道具模拟场景，引导孩子们实践，助力他们养成良好乘车习惯。而防恐演习里，老师们提前告知孩子遇坏人时的躲避要点。当“坏人”闯入校园的模拟场景出现，警报拉响，孩子们迅速躲到安全处，成功避险，自我保护意识大幅提升。

In preparation for the fire drill, As soon as the alarm sounded, the children acted swiftly, evacuating in an orderly manner along the prearranged route to the outdoor playground, successfully mastering fire escape skills. In the vehicle safety education session, the correct way to ride in a vehicle was demonstrated through lively animated videos, and teachers used toy props to simulate scenarios, guiding the children to practice and helping them develop good habits for riding in vehicles. In the anti-terrorism drill, teachers informed the children of the key points to evade when encountering bad people. When the simulated scenario of "bad guys" invading the campus occurred and the alarm was triggered, the children quickly hid in safe places, successfully avoiding danger and significantly enhancing their self-protection awareness.

通过这一系列丰富多样的安全教育活动，孩子们实实在在地学到了保护自己的方法，安全意识深深扎根在他们小小的心中，为孩子们的健康成长保驾护航。

An Initial Exploration of the Living and the Non-living

一场关于生物的奇妙探索之旅正在K1悄然展开。生物，作为自然界中最神秘且多样的存在，对孩子们来说充满了未知和好奇。通过这次UOI主题活动，孩子们不仅能够近距离观察和了解生物，还能在动手实践中培养科学思维和探究能力。

A wonderful journey of exploration about biology is quietly unfolding at K1. Biology, which encompasses all the diversity and mystery of life, is full of unknowns and curiosity for children. Through this UOI theme activity, children will not only be able to observe and understand biology up close but also cultivate scientific thinking and inquiry skills through hands-on practice.

To ignite the children's interest in learning, the teachers initiated the children's exploration journey with an engaging game. The children were divided into groups, and through observation and discussion, they categorized these items into "living things" and "non-living things." The children excitedly debated whether flowers are living things and if toy cars could move. Through the game, the children gained a basic understanding of the differences between living and non-living things and learned to solve problems through observation and thinking.

接着进入收集资料阶段，K1的孩子们选择了一种既神秘又充满趣味的植物——蘑菇！蘑菇生长过程快速而神奇，短短几天，孩子们即将亲眼见证从菌包到小蘑菇的蜕变。利用蘑菇种植活动，帮助孩子们了解植物的生长过程、培养观察力、动手能力和每天照顾它们的责任感。通过每天浇水、观察和记录，孩子们更加深刻地体会到其变化，还感受到了生命的奇妙和脆弱。

Next, we enter the stage of collecting information, where the children of K1 choose a organism that is both mysterious and full of fun—mushrooms! The growth process of mushrooms is rapid and magical; in just a few days, the children will witness the transformation from the mushroom bag to the tiny mushrooms with their own eyes. By engaging in mushroom cultivation activities, the children learn about the growth process of fungus, develop their observational skills, practical abilities, and a sense of responsibility for daily care. Through daily watering, observation, and recording, the children gain a deeper understanding of the changes and also experience the wonder and fragility of life.

多感官探索：对蘑菇的深入认识

Multi-Sensory Exploration: An In-depth Understanding of Mushrooms

在活动过程中，孩子们对菌包呈现出的颜色表示好奇，经过闻、摸等多种方式，让孩子们对蘑菇的种子有了不一样的认识。通过多感官的探索，孩子们不仅加深了对蘑菇的理解，还学会了用多种方式去认识和探索生物。

During the activity, the children showed curiosity towards the color of the mushroom spawn. Through various methods such as smelling and touching, the children gained a different understanding of the seeds of mushrooms. In the K2 stage, a fascinating interdisciplinary inquiry activity themed around water has energetically commenced. Water, a common substance in life, is full of mystery for children. Exploring water can satisfy their curiosity and develop a variety of skills.

活动以一系列有趣的玩水实验开场。热胀冷缩实验里，水因温度改变体积，让孩子们直观感受到温度与物质状态的关联；水喷泉实验中，压力驱动水流喷出，引发孩子们对物理现象的好奇；用毛线和盐吊起冰块，更是打破了孩子们的常规认知，成功点燃了他们探索水的热情。借着这股热情，借助KWL图表，孩子们梳理已知的水知识，提出心中疑惑，满心期待后续的探索。

The event kicked off with a series of fun water experiments. In the evaporation and condensation experiment, water changes state due to temperature changes, allowing children to visually understand the relationship between temperature and the state of matter. In the water fountain experiment, pressure drives the water to spout out, sparking curiosity about physical phenomena among the children. Using yarn and salt to lift ice cubes broke the children's conventional perceptions and successfully ignited their enthusiasm for exploring water. With this enthusiasm, using the KWL chart, the children sorted out their existing knowledge about water, raised their questions, and looked forward to further exploration with anticipation.

认识水的三态时，老师带领孩子们做“水在锅里的变化”实验，孩子们看着水加热变成水蒸气，对水的三态变化有了直观认知。“怎样更快把冰融化”的活动，让孩子们积极思考、动手验证，理解了水从固态到液态的转变过程。

During the lesson on the three states (solid, liquid and gas) of water, the teacher led the children in conducting an experiment using an electric burner and a pot where the children observed water heating up and transforming into steam, gaining an intuitive understanding of the changes in the states of water. The children were then challenged to find ways to melt ice into water, encouraging the children to think actively and verify through hands-on experiments and helping them understand the transition of water from solid to liquid state.

The children also made their own water cycle bags, observing the evaporation and condensation of water daily, witnessing the natural water cycle within the small bags.

In the group experiment exploring water solubility, children mixed materials such as salt, sugar, and mung beans into water. They observed that salt and sugar dissolved, changing the taste of the water, while mung beans and rice did not dissolve. The children clearly distinguished between "soluble" and "insoluble," and shared examples of soluble substances from everyday life, thereby exercising their cognitive abilities.

By showcasing photos of the century-old trees at the Penglai Pavilion, the children embarked on an exploration of the concept of "temporal span." They engaged in lively discussions about known prehistoric creatures (dinosaurs, pterosaurs, early humans), but seemed somewhat unfamiliar with the concept of "prehistoric plants." When the teacher asked, "If this tree could talk, what stories would it tell us?" The children demonstrated their boundless imagination through their homework assignment, "The Story of the Century-Old Tree" – some illustrated scenes of dinosaurs fighting witnessed by the ancient tree, while others depicted ancient humans performing rituals around the tree. This activity not only sparked interest but also revealed their nascent understanding of "time". Most children associated "a century" with the age of their grandparents, but further concrete guidance is needed to help them grasp the more distant "prehistoric era."

KWL探究：恐龙之谜与协作推理

KWL Inquiry: The Mystery of Dinosaurs and Collaborative Reasoning

When pairs of children delved deeply into a selected question, some illustrated the Earth's atmosphere after an asteroid impact with drawings, while others marked environmental changes caused by volcanic eruptions with symbols. The teacher transformed the children's oral explanations into written annotations, helping them establish a logical chain of "observation → reasoning → expression," and ultimately creating inquiry posters that were rich in both images and text.

Subsequently, they drew "before and after disaster comparison pictures" of three extinction events (ice age, volcanic eruption, asteroid impact) by drawing lots. One child used red and yellow pigments to depict "a lush forest before the volcanic eruption, which was submerged by lava after the eruption," and explained that "the lava destroyed the dinosaurs' homes, and they had to flee." Another child used a blue gradient to show "the lakes freezing over during the ice age, leaving dinosaurs without water to drink." The teacher guided them to describe their paintings using the "because... so..." sentence structure, reinforcing causal logical thinking. This activity combines scientific speculation with artistic expression, visually presenting the impact of drastic environmental changes on life.

K3-China students began by discussing the basic characteristics of dinosaurs, gradually exploring the living habits of different dinosaurs. By comparing the similarities and differences between carnivorous and herbivorous dinosaurs, they deepened their understanding of biodiversity. When exploring dinosaur fossils, the children not only learned about their formation and archaeological value but also made "fossils" with clay, experiencing the joy of archaeological discoveries.

结合STEM主题“恐龙岛危机”，孩子们发挥创造力，为恐龙面临的生存挑战提出解决方案，并通过绘画、搭建等方式呈现自己的故事。在这一系列沉浸式体验中，孩子们不断拓展知识边界，以创造性思维探索史前世界的奥秘。
