At Harrow Hengqin, our university guidance is enriched and personalised. In particular, the Sixth Form—where Gloria is—is small in size, big in support. Students benefit from a comprehensive range of guidance including one-on-one consultations, family advisory sessions, university guidance course, and access to university connections. Moreover, we provides a wealth of additional support such as a digital one-stop career planning platform, bespoke learning opportunities in partnership with higher education institutions and research bodies, and an extensive network of professional and academic resources across the Greater Bay Area.
As an AISL Harrow Scholarship recipient, Gloria’s outstanding academic record speaks for itself. From the outset of her time at Harrow, we set clear goals together: to apply to medical school and to pursue a career as a doctor. Choosing a medical pathway not only demands that one maintain excellent grades and prepare for additional assessments—such as the UCAT and the rigorous interviews required by medical schools—but also calls for a genuine care for those in need and a commitment to enhancing public health and well-being. Beyond participating in the school’s established leadership programmes, Gloria sought out more targeted, purposeful experiences. Last semester, we began discussing the idea of forming an academic group, and with thorough preparation, she managed to bring her vision to fruition this term, thereby opening up opportunities for other like-minded students. Looking ahead, Gloria will, like her peers, sit for the forthcoming examinations while continuing to prepare her applications. We have also made preliminary plans for the summer, including first aid training, summer schools, and volunteer work. I am confident that she will remain steadfast on her chosen path and continue to be a source of pride for Harrow Hengqin.
