In the honeyed light of a spring morning, where willow whispers carried the scent of damp earth, BeeMee Forest Academy Xihu Campus came alive with quiet discovery. The children of Starfish Class knelt in sunlit circles, their small hands cradling acorns and maple keys, nature’s perfect parcels of potential.This Tree Planting Week, homes and classrooms became partners in horticultural magic. Through soil-sifting, seed-spotting and the sacred act of tucking a pip into darkness, our young explorers didn’t just plant future oaks, they cultivated their first real understanding of life’s tender beginnings.

在植树节前夕，家长们收到了一份特别的 “亲子作业”：和孩子们一起收集生活中常见的瓜果蔬菜种子。家长们积极响应，热情配合，和孩子们一起开启了一场寻找种子的奇妙之旅。从圆滚滚的黑豆种子，到扁平如蝶的四季豆种子；从如芝麻般细小的草莓种子，到体型巨大、彰显磅礴生命力的菠萝蜜种子；从藏于肥厚果肉间，身形椭圆似金月的芒果种子，再到簇拥一团，小巧可爱如珍珠的橘子种子……每一颗种子的发现都伴随着孩子们惊喜的欢呼，每颗种子都承载着生命独特的奥秘。在家长的引导下，孩子们认真观察，一起归纳整理，小小的脑袋里装满了对这些神奇种子的好奇。

In the lead-up to Tree Planting Day, parents received a rather special homework assignment: a family seed-hunting mission. With great enthusiasm, families embarked on a wondrous exploration of nature's tiny treasures - collecting seeds from everyday fruits and vegetables. What a marvellous variety they discovered!

Plump, jet-black bean seeds;
Flattened butterfly-shaped runner bean seeds;
Tiny sesame-like strawberry pips;
The colossal, awe-inspiring jackfruit seed - nature's monument to vitality;
Mango stones, hidden in golden flesh like crescent moons.

Clusters of dainty orange seeds, gleaming like miniature pearls

Each discovery sparked delighted gasps from our young explorers. Every seed held its own unique story of life, and under their parents' guidance, the children observed carefully, sorted methodically, and let their curiosity blossom like the seeds they studied.

植树节当天，教室变身 “种子博物馆”，孩子们捧着收集的种子轮流分享。他们用稚嫩的语言描述着种子的形状、颜色，比划着种子的大小，在这个过程中，大家惊喜地发现：不仅每种种子形态各异，就算是同一类种子，仔细观察也各有不同。这些发现，让孩子们对身边的事物有了更敏锐的感知。孩子们歪着脑袋思考的模样，正是科学探索的最初萌芽。

The children took turns sharing the seeds they had collected. In their tender voices, they described the seeds' shapes and colors, gesturing to show their sizes. Through this process, everyone made a delightful discovery: not only does each type of seed have a distinct form, but even seeds of the same kind have subtle differences upon closer observation. These discoveries sharpened the children's perception of the world around them. The sight of them tilting their heads in thought marked the first sprouts of scientific exploration.

春日的小花园里，孩子们化身 “种植小能手”：攥着小铲子挖浅坑、轻轻撒下太阳花Sunflower种子、用喷壶细细浇水……孩子们知道，从这一刻起，这些种子将在这块土地上生根发芽，开花结果，就像他们自己一样，在悉心呵护下茁壮成长。此刻种下的不只是种子，更是对未来的美好憧憬。未来的日子里，他们将继续关注这些种子，等待它们发芽、开花、结果。

Gripping tiny trowels to dig shallow holes, gently scattering sunflower seeds, and carefully watering them with spray bottles... The children knew that from this moment on, these seeds would take root, sprout, bloom, and bear fruit—just like themselves, thriving under loving care.What they planted now was more than just seeds; it was a hopeful vision for the future. In the days to come, they would keep watching over these seeds, waiting for them to sprout, flower, and fruit.

为了让孩子们更直观地观察种子发芽生长的过程，更令人惊喜的是“Mini Greenhouse”制作环节。在老师的指导下，孩子们每天都会透过小小的“温室”观察：种子有没有发芽，生长又有什么变化。他们瞪着好奇的大眼睛，一起见证着生命的奇妙变化。

“They need sun, water and soil. (种子们长大需要阳光、水和土。)”

中英文交织的惊叹声中，孩子们在这个过程中，见证着生命的奇迹，也渐渐懂得：原来生命的成长，需要阳光、水、耐心，还有温柔的等待。

To help children better observe the magical process of seed germination, we introduced a delightful "Mini Greenhouse" activity. Under teachers' guidance, the little gardeners eagerly checked their miniature greenhouses daily, watching for the first signs of sprouting and tracking every growth change.

With wide, curious eyes, they witnessed nature's wonder unfold:

"When will our seeds sprout?"

"Look! This sprout grew so tall! So cool!"

"Wow, tiny leaves appeared! Cute!"

"They need sun, water and soil."

Through these bilingual exclamations of wonder, the children didn't just witness a miracle of life - they learned profound lessons: that growth requires sunlight and water, yes, but also patience and gentle waiting.

From initial examinations of seed appearances during collection to sustained attention on growth processes during cultivation, the children learned to observe with microscope-like precision—noticing distinguishing seed characteristics and subtle developmental changes.

激发探索世界的热情 Igniting Curiosity About

the World

对种子从哪里来、会如何生长等问题的好奇，点燃了孩子们探索世界的热情。在活动中，他们不断提出问题，寻求答案，这种积极探索的精神将伴随他们不断认识周围的世界。

The children's wonder about where seeds come from and how they grow sparked a fiery enthusiasm for exploration. Throughout the activity, they asked endless questions and sought answers—this spirited sense of inquiry will continue driving their discovery of the world around them.

亲手参与种植和照顾种子的过程——给种子浇水、晒太阳，关心植物的健康成长，孩子们用行动诠释着对生命的尊重，真切体会到植物生长的不易，从而更加懂得爱护植物。

The hands-on experience of planting and tending seeds—watering them, ensuring sunlight, and caring for their healthy growth—became the children's silent teacher. Through these daily acts, they demonstrated respect for life while gaining firsthand appreciation for a plant's vulnerable journey, naturally cultivating deeper compassion for living things.
