While choosing a kindergarten for Sophie, I visited many that claimed to offer "international" and "bilingual" education. But after a closer look, I realised many were still following traditional models—focusing on memorising vocabulary and pushing for test results. On the surface, it looked impressive, but it rarely sparked real passion for learning. That's why I was hesitant—even sceptical—about early childhood English education.

There's no focus on rankings or quick results. Instead, through the IB curriculum and EYFS framework, it creates a space where children can explore freely and grow naturally. Their interests are respected, their curiosity encouraged, and language learning happens like an open-ended journey—unfolding naturally.

谷谷在这里度过了她的小班和中班时光。她的变化，不在于能背多少单词，而是逐渐变得自信、愿意表达、乐于探索世界。最令我惊喜的是，在这样双语沉浸式的环境里，她对英语的感知力，以一种超出我预期的速度悄然生长了起来。

Sophie spent her first 2 kindergarten years here. Her growth wasn't about memorising vocabulary—it was about becoming more confident, expressive, and eager to explore the world. What surprised me most was how, in this bilingual immersive environment, her sensitivity to English quietly grew—faster than I ever expected.

在华锐莱普顿幼儿园，英语不是一门课程，而是日常生活的一部分。每天与外教一起生活、游戏、阅读、讲故事。虽然幼儿园阶段的孩子开口英文交流并不多，但听得懂、感知得到，而且是以英文思维在理解。

At Chiway Repton Kindergarten, English isn't just a subject; it's part of daily life. The children live, play, read, and tell stories with foreign teachers every day. Even if they don't speak much English yet, they understand, absorb, and make sense of the world through the language itself.

后来，我们搬到了吉隆坡，谷谷进入了全英文的国际学校。前一两周，她也曾有些听不懂，但很快，因为有过去的沉浸式基础，经过几次反复，她自然就听懂了。

Later, we moved to Kuala Lumpur, and Sophie started at an international school where everything was taught in English. For the first week or two, she struggled a bit to understand. But thanks to her immersive foundation, after a few repetitions, she picked it up naturally.

短短一个月时间，她已经可以用英文进行日常交流；一个学期过去，她能在中英文之间自由切换，表达流畅，口音纯正，思维也愈发地英式且自如。更让我欣慰的是，她经常用英文主动分享自己的小想法，眼睛里闪着光。

Within just a month, she was already able to communicate in English for everyday conversations. By the end of the semester, she was switching easily between Chinese and English—speaking smoothly, with a clear accent, and thinking naturally in English. What made me most happy was seeing her often share her little thoughts in English, her eyes shining with excitement.

而这一切，离不开她在华锐莱普顿幼儿园两年沉浸式双语环境的深度滋养。

Looking back, I'm deeply grateful for making that choice. Choosing a kindergarten that respects each child's rhythm and natural growth is like planting a seed of freedom and strength for life.
