在法拉古特学习期间作为社团课生物社社长,钟镇广将社团打造成跨学科探索的平台:他的讲解天马行空,从脑科学机制解析、胚胎发育理论研讨等学术性议题,到大学申请大模型策略分享的实用性内容,实现兴趣与实践的有机结合。当时参与的法拉孵化器项目至今仍在维护更新,目前其主导开发的“基于大语言模型的精神科住院医师培训系统”已进入专利申请阶段,该系统支持全球100余种语言,正推进产品化落地并寻求风险投资。另一项基于线性回归模型开发的中医感冒辨证开方软件,更展现出其在生物医学与信息技术交叉领域的创新能力。这些成就都得益于当时在法拉古特求学期间养成的良好学习习惯及钻研精神。

现在就读帝国理工学院生物医学工程专业期间,钟镇广坦言当时得益于在法拉古特学习期间,学校的课程安排为他日后顺利适应英国名校大学紧张而充实的课程打下了坚实的基础。在不断的自我加速成长淬炼中,平时的学习中很多细节点滴总是浮现在镇广脑中,当遇到实验困难时,在Monica老师的带领下,他参与美拉德反应机制实验。整个过程对自己的成长有极大的帮助,另外当被问及如何接触喜欢上大模型时,他提到听李沐的动手学au课了解到gpt-3,从此深深被大模型魅力所吸引,虽然学术场景中大规模语言模型的应用仍处探索阶段,但他平时仍持续追踪YouTube等平台的技术动态,不断保持对跨学科技术发展的敏锐洞察。

谈及成功经验,钟镇广强调“保持对前沿科技的持续关注”至关重要,比如人工智能领域、大模型训练开发项目等全球热点,建议学弟学妹高频浏览PubMed、Nature、Science等权威平台,多方获取信息。同时他提到:“申请与学业是人生的精彩片段,积极拓展多元社交网络,在多元领域积累跨学科研究经验,才能构建更完整的成长坐标体系。”

以技术视角展望教育未来

作为往届优秀校友,钟镇广一直关注母校发展,并提出非常具体务实建议:他指出在课程建设上,可以强化Python编程、前端开发、小程序设计等计算机应用教学;在国际化培养教育方面,应适当增加外籍教师比例,帮助学生提前适应全英文学术环境。最后他为母校设立的阶段性目标是:“期待未来法拉古特学子斩获帝国理工及顶尖名校录取通知书的数量实现十倍突破!”  



2025年我校的毕业生升学成绩在英联邦方向牛津大学物理专业在全球仅 4% 的严苛录取门槛下,实现天津地区零的突破。帝国理工学院、伦敦大学学院等 G5 名校 offer 接踵而至,另外累计获得的录取奖学金总额达到了近1,815,756美元、265500加币(约合人民币14,480,593元).英联邦课程班体系与 "牛剑计划" 深度融合,通过定制化科研项目与学术导师制,为学子铺设通往顶尖学府的阶梯。这些耀眼的成绩是对那些像钟镇广同学一样人在海外求学仍心系母校发展的最好回应。

Zhong Zhenguang (Will) is an outstanding alumnus of the 2023 class of Tianjin Farragut School, currently studying biomedical engineering at Imperial College of Technology. Enrolling at Farragut: Cultivating the Original Aspiration for Scientific Research in the Free Soil


The bond between Zhong Zhenguang and Farragut School began with his initial impression of the highly infectious charisma of Yang Xiaoke, the founder of Tianjin Farragut School. "The principal was very amiable and approachable at that time, and could always accurately grasp the core of the communication," he commented.

Farragut School became the starting point of his scientific research exploration: the biology course was his favorite. The teachers' profound professional knowledge and patient and guiding teaching style quietly sowed the seeds of his interest in life sciences. The relaxed and free academic atmosphere opened the door to diverse explorations for him, allowing him to deeply engage in the field he loved. Teachers Ma and Hang from the college counseling team not only provided professional support during his college application process but also became his spiritual mentors on his growth journey, helping him build a healthy and mature mindset.

Community Practice and Innovative Breakthrough: The Progressive Path from Interest to Patent

During his study at Farragut, as the president of the Biology Club in the club courses, Zhong Zhenguang transformed the club into a platform for interdisciplinary exploration: His explanations were imaginative, covering academic topics such as the analysis of brain science mechanisms and the discussion of embryonic development theories, as well as practical content like the sharing of strategies for applying to universities using large models, achieving an organic combination of interests and practice. The Farragut Incubator project he participated in at that time is still being maintained and updated. Currently, the "Resident Training System for Psychiatrists Based on Large Language Models" led by him has entered the patent application stage. This system supports over 100 languages worldwide and is promoting productization and seeking venture capital. Another software for syndrome differentiation and prescription for traditional Chinese medicine colds, developed based on the linear regression model, further demonstrates his innovative ability in the interdisciplinary field of biomedicine and information technology. All these achievements are attributed to the good study habits and research spirit he developed during his study at Farragut.

Pursuing further studies at Imperial College: Exploring new academic frontiers in the face of challenges

While currently studying Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London, Zhong Zhenguang frankly stated that he benefited from his time at Farragut. The school's curriculum arrangement laid a solid foundation for him to smoothly adapt to the intense and fulfilling courses at a prestigious British university in the future. During the continuous process of self-accelerated growth and tempering, many details from his daily studies often come to Zhenguang's mind. When encountering difficulties in experiments, under the guidance of Teacher Monica, he participated in the Maillard reaction mechanism experiment. The entire process was of great help to his growth. In addition, when asked how he came to like and get in touch with large models, he mentioned that he learned about GPT-3 through Li Mu's "动手学AI" course. Since then, he has been deeply attracted by the charm of large models. Although the application of large language models in academic scenarios is still in the exploration stage, he still continuously tracks the technological trends on platforms such as YouTube in his daily life, constantly maintaining a keen insight into the development of interdisciplinary technologies.

At the same time, he mentioned: "Applications and studies are wonderful segments of life. Pay attention to the development of the alma mater: Looking ahead to the future of education from a technological perspective

 As an outstanding alumnus from previous years, Zhong Zhenguang has always been concerned about the development of his alma mater and put forward very specific and practical suggestions. He pointed out that in curriculum construction, computer application teaching such as Python programming, front - end development, and mini - program design could be strengthened. In terms of internationalized education and training, the proportion of foreign teachers should be appropriately increased to help students adapt to the all - English academic environment in advance. Finally, the phased goal he set for his alma mater is: "I look forward to a ten - fold breakthrough in the number of acceptance letters from Imperial College London and other top - notch universities received by students of Farragut in the future!"
