青苗顺义校区总校长Lim Geok Cheng专访:以"生命绽放"之心,铸就IB教育新范式

当Lim Geok Cheng校长站在青苗顺义校区的讲台上,这位来自新加坡的教育专家不仅带来了一份亮眼的履历,更携带着对教育的深刻洞察与赤诚初心。


从新加坡教育部卓越中心高级顾问到新加坡艺术学院(SOTA)的掌舵人,再到如今扎根中国教育沃土,Lim校长的每一步都印证着她对“助力每个生命绽放”的执着追求。

作为新加坡教育部卓越学校中心前高级顾问,Lim校长曾带领由资深校长组成的评估团队,运用大数据分析和三维度访谈(校长/教师/学生),为教育机构进行精准"教育CT"。这段经历锻造出她独特的双重视野:既有建构课程体系的宏观格局,又具洞察个体成长的显微功力。 


在担任顾问前,Lim校长拥有18年校长任职经历,她先后执掌新加坡多所特色学校,成功构建从初级学院、理工学院至顶尖大学的升学通道体系。在新加坡某学校任职校长期间,她实现了IB成绩人均42分(应届毕业生200余人)的好成绩。

从教三十余载,"助力每个生命绽放"始终是Lim校长的教育初心。在新加坡艺术学院任职期间,有舞蹈教师提议仅选拔优秀学生登台演出,Lim校长的反问成为经典教育案例:"舞台为何不能成为所有孩子的成长课堂?"最终,不同基础的学生共同完成了一场震撼表演。"当聚光灯亮起时,我看到的不只是艺术技巧,更是孩子们眼中被点燃的自信光芒。"

作为终身学习的典范,Lim校长的足迹遍布全球教育高地:在意大利雷焦艾米利亚汲取创意教学精髓,赴丹麦考察幸福教育实践,于美国肯尼迪艺术中心研修艺术教育。


正是这种全球视野,让她在青苗顺义校区看见理想教育的雏形。" IB PYP、MYP、DP全学段认证课程体系,让这里既有IB体系的探究精神,又兼具东方教育的扎实根基。600人社区实现了教育最珍贵的可能性——在紧密的师生互动中,个性化关怀更容易落地。"这位曾主导新加坡校际经验共享的“教育联结者”,已开始筹划将新加坡"教育诊断"模型与青苗的个性化培养体系有机嫁接。







Lim Geok Cheng校长的身上有一种罕见的“平衡感”——既有国际教育者的前瞻视野,又深谙东方教育的务实精神。她口中的“魔法”实则是日复一日的深耕:对教师的专业托举、对学生的真心托底、对教育的敬畏之心。正如她所言:

When Principal Lim Geok Cheng steps onto the stage at BIBS Shunyi Campus, this Singapore education expert brings not only an impressive resume but also profound insights and unwavering dedication to her craft. 


From her role as a Senior Consultant at Singapore’s Ministry of Education Centre for School Excellence to leading institutions like the School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA), and now planting her roots in China’s fertile ground for education, every step of Lim’s journey reflects her relentless pursuit of "empowering every student to succeed."

As a former Senior Consultant at Singapore’s Ministry of Education Centre for School Excellence, Lim once led teams of principals in conducting precise "educational CT scans" for institutions, utilizing data analysis and three-dimensional interviews (with principals, teachers, and students). This experience forged her unique dual perspective: a macro-level vision for curriculum and a micro-level sensitivity to individual growth.  


Prior to her advisory role, Lim served as a principal for 18 years, steering multiple distinctive schools in Singapore. She successfully established academic pathways spanning tertiary institutions, and top-tier universities. During her tenure at one Singapore school, she achieved an average IB score of 42 points among 200+ graduating students. 


When asked about the formula behind creating globally top-ranked IB programs, Lim’s eyes sparkle with wisdom:

From the Primary Years Programme (PYP) to the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), each phase is meticulously structured, allowing knowledge systems to grow organically like tree rings. "Education is a relay; every baton must be passed with steady precision."

Through their passionate involvement at art festivals, science camps, and student leadership initiatives, students experience happiness and deep learning They develop confidence through small victories. "When learning becomes a journey to explore the world, excellence follows naturally."



This systemic thinking is evident in her leadership of the "Excellence in Action" exchange forums, which annually present proven strategies from Singapore schools to foster cross-institutional wisdom -sharing while sustaining dynamic innovation.

For over three decades, "empowering every student to succeed" has remained Lim’s educational north star. During her tenure at SOTA, when a dance teacher proposed showcasing only top students in performances, Lim questioned: "Why can’t the stage be a classroom for all?" The result was an opportunity for performance by students of varying skill levels. "When the spotlight shone, I saw not just artistic skill, but the ignited spark of confidence in every child’s eyes." 


This belief for individual potential shapes her educational philosophy. Whether nurturing academic elites at Hwa Chong Institution, creative talents at SOTA, or diverse student bodies in public schools, her creed endures: "Every child deserves professional guidance. "

A lifelong learner, Lim has drawn inspiration from global educational pioneers: absorbing creative pedagogy in Reggio Emilia schools (Italy), studying student-centred education in Denmark, and exploring arts education at Washington’s Kennedy Center. These experiences crystallize her belief: "Future talents need triple literacy—to think like scientists, create like artists, and empathize like diplomats."


It is this global lens that allows her to recognize BIBS Shunyi’s potential as an incubator for ideal education. "The fully accredited IB continuum—PYP, MYP, DP—combines IB’s spirit of inquiry with Eastern educational rigor. The 600-member community offers education’s most precious gift: personalized care through close teacher-student interactions to enable the student to thrive." Now, this "educational connector" who once facilitated cross-school sharing of best practices in Singapore is poised to integrate Singapore’s "educational diagnostics" model with BIBS’s personalized approach.
