AXIS Week Without Walls 2025 长菁无墙周活动完美收官！

Our recent trip to Zimbabwe’s Imire Rhino & Wildlife Conservation was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, students were immersed in unforgettable experiences—sharing breakfast beside gentle elephants, interacting up close with both black and white rhinos, and hiking to the top of the granite outcrop just in time to witness a breathtaking African sunset. We were surrounded by incredible wildlife: towering giraffes roaming freely, warthogs darting through the brush, and even Simba, the ever-playful conservation dog, who quickly became everyone’s favorite companion.

What made this trip truly inspiring, however, was the students’ unwavering dedication and spirit. I am incredibly proud of how they stepped up to every challenge, working tirelessly to clean the elephant enclosures and help build a rock bridge that will support truck access for the conservancy. They rose early each morning without complaint, always prepared and eager to contribute. Their teamwork, resilience, and respect for the animals and the land were evident every day, and they represented our school with integrity, kindness, and strength. This journey wasn’t just about wildlife—it was about building character, and I could not be prouder of what they accomplished.

我们在最近前往津巴布韦Imire犀牛及野生动物保护区的旅行可以说是一趟非凡之旅。从我们抵达的那一刻起，学生们就沉浸在无与伦比的体验之中——与温顺的大象一起享用早餐，近距离接触黑白犀牛，还有徒步登上花岗岩山峰，在那里恰好见证了绝美的非洲日落。我们周围环绕着令人惊叹的野生动物：自由漫步着的高大的长颈鹿、穿梭于灌木丛中的疣猪，甚至还有永远充满活力的保护犬Simba，它很快便成为了大家最喜爱的伙伴。

然而，让这次旅程真正令人感动的，是学生们坚定不移的奉献精神和乐观态度。我为他们面对每一个挑战时所展现出的积极应对的态度感到无比自豪。他们不辞辛劳地清理大象围栏，并帮助建造一座能供保护区卡车通行的石桥。他们每天清晨都能早早起床，毫无怨言，总是做足了准备并且乐于贡献自己的力量。他们每天都向大家展示团队合作的精神、坚韧不拔的品质以及对动物和这片土地的尊重。他们代表着学校展现了正直、善良和坚强的精神面貌。这次旅程不仅仅是关于保护野生动物，更是为了培养学生的品格，我为他们所取得的成就感到无比骄傲。

Our recent school trip to Bali was a busy but unforgettable experience. Over the course of the week, students explored a rich blend of history, nature, physical challenge, and community engagement. They visited culturally significant sites such as Uluwatu Temple, Pura Tirta Empul, and Ubud, gaining a deeper appreciation for Balinese traditions and history. Outdoor activities like learning to surf and stand-up paddleboard at Bali’s iconic beaches pushed students out of their comfort zones and helped build confidence and teamwork.

One of the most meaningful aspects of the trip was the community service work at the Turtle Conservation Center, where students cleaned tanks and fed turtles. This was an opportunity that highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship. Students also immersed themselves in Bali’s natural beauty through hikes to scenic waterfalls and interacted with wildlife at the Bali Reptile Park, where they were given the opportunity to feed crocodiles and handle snakes.

Perhaps the most significant achievement was the personal growth students experienced. They became more independent, resilient, and connected to the world around them. Trips like this, as part of our Week Without Walls program, are important because they offer students hands-on learning beyond the classroom, build lasting memories, and foster a sense of global awareness and responsibility.

最近，我们前往巴厘岛的这趟旅程是一次忙碌但令人难忘的经历。在这一周的时间里，学生们探索了丰富的历史和自然景观，进行了体能挑战以及社区服务等内容。他们参观了诸如乌鲁瓦图神庙、圣泉寺以及乌布等具有文化意义的景点，从而更加深入地了解了巴厘岛的传统和历史。在巴厘岛著名的海滩上学习冲浪和站立式桨板等户外活动让学生们走出舒适区，这有助于他们增强自信心和团队协作的能力。

这次旅程中最有意义的一部分是在海龟保护中心开展的社区服务活动。在那里，学生们清洗水箱并给海龟喂食。这也是一次突显环境保护重要性的机会。学生们还通过前往风景优美的瀑布进行徒步，在巴厘岛爬行动物公园与野生动物互动等活动，领略了巴厘岛的自然风光。在公园，学生还有机会给鳄鱼喂食并接触不同蛇类。

然而，最显著的收获应该是学生们所取得的个人成长。他们变得更加独立和坚毅，并与周围的世界建立了更紧密的联系。作为我们“无墙周”项目的一部分，这样的旅行非常重要，因为它能为学生们提供超越课堂的实践学习机会，能留下长久的回忆，并培养学生的全球意识和责任感。

The Chaozhou trip was more than just a change of scenery—it was a powerful reminder of what education can look like beyond the classroom walls. Immersed in the vibrant traditions and culture of Chaozhou, our students experienced firsthand the value of community, heritage, and service.

What made this project truly impactful was watching our students step outside of their comfort zones. They not only learned about sustainability and cultural preservation but also engaged in meaningful volunteer work. Whether helping at the local animal shelter, interacting with villagers, or documenting cultural landmarks, students developed empathy, leadership, and a deeper understanding of their place in a global world.

One of the most significant outcomes was the shift in perspective many students experienced. They returned with a greater appreciation for simplicity, gratitude, and the unseen efforts of communities working quietly to care for their environment and each other. Their presentations, journals, and reflections captured not just what they saw—but what they felt.

Week Without Walls is important because it brings learning to life. It transforms textbook knowledge into lived experience and shapes students into responsible, aware, and compassionate global citizens. The Chaozhou trip did exactly that—and more.

这次潮州之行不仅仅是一次风景的变换——它更深刻地提醒了我们，教育在课堂之外可以呈现出怎样的样貌。沉浸在潮州充满活力的传统与文化之中，我们的学生亲身感受到了社区、文化遗产和服务的价值。

这个项目所带来的有益的影响，是当我们看到学生走出了自己的舒适区。他们不仅了解了可持续发展和文化遗产保护的知识，还参与了有意义的志愿服务工作。无论是帮助当地的动物救助站，与村民交流，还是记录文化地标，学生们培养了同理心、领导力，并对他们在全球世界中的位置有了更深刻的理解。

其中最重要的成果之一是许多学生所经历的视角的转变。他们带着满满的收获回到学校——这些收获包括了更深刻的对简单生活的欣赏、对感恩的感悟以及默默为环境和彼此付出努力的社区所产生的敬意。他们的展示、日记和反思不仅记录了他们的所见所闻，也记录了他们的真实感受。

“无墙周”项目之所以重要，是因为它让学习变得生动起来。它将课本知识转化为实际经历，将学生培养成为有责任感、有意识且富有同情心的全球公民。潮州之行正是做到了这一点，而且效果还远不止于此。

During our Week Without Walls, a select group of students and teachers stayed in Xiamen to spend the week serving the community. Throughout the week, students spent time cleaning up natural areas from the mountains to the sea and volunteering with charitable organizations, helping those in need. Picking up litter at Tianzhushan and Tong'an beaches helped emphasize the importance of taking care of the environment, but the meaning of our charitable efforts was truly heartfelt when we spent time helping prepare lunch and getting to know the community served by a local welfare kitchen in northern Xiamen. Being able to see the smiles of the people we were helping made the experience much more personal and meaningful to not only the students, but also the teachers. Volunteering with the welfare kitchen was a beautiful book end to our week of service.

在“无墙周”活动中，一部分学生和老师留在厦门，利用这个时间为社区提供服务和帮助。在整个过程中，学生们花时间清理从山上到海边的自然区域，并参与慈善组织的志愿活动，帮助那些需要帮助的人。在天竺山和同安海滩捡拾垃圾有助于强调保护环境的重要性，而当我们与位于厦门北部一家当地爱心厨房的成员一起准备午餐与他们交流后，我们的慈善行动才得以真正落地，让我们发自内心地真心关注和帮助需要帮助的人群。能够看到我们所帮助的人们脸上露出笑容，让这次经历不仅对学生，也对老师来说都变得更加有意义，也收获了更多的个人感受。与爱心厨房成员一起进行的志愿服务，也为我们这周的社区服务画上了美好的句号。
