接近世界的孩子，注定与众不同

周五集会上，OCIS的师生们迎来了一场精彩的中文辩论盛宴！小学部六年级围绕“以成败论英雄是否可取”展开激辩，孩子们引经据典，从历史人物到现代事例，逻辑清晰、表达流畅；中学部则以“孙悟空如果可以选择，应该去陪唐僧取经，还是在花果山做个道遥大王？（《西游记》）”为题，双方辩手妙语连珠，既剖析角色心理，又联系现实选择，展现了深厚的文化积累与批判性思维。  

In the Friday Assembly, students and teachers at OCIS enjoyed a thrilling Chinese debate competition! The sixth-grade students of the primary school debated the motion "Should heroes be judged by success or failure?" Citing historical figures and modern examples, they presented clear logic and fluent expressions. Meanwhile, the secondary school students tackled the topic "If Sun Wukong had a choice, should he accompany Tang Monk on the journey to the West or stay as the free Monkey King in Huaguo Mountain?" With witty arguments, they analyzed the character’s psychology while connecting it to real-life choices, showcasing profound cultural knowledge and critical thinking.

在国际化教育中，中文不仅是语言工具，更是文化认同的纽带。通过辩论赛，学生们深入理解成语典故、文学经典，将语言运用与思想表达相结合，真正体会中文的博大精深。无论是小学部的哲理探讨，还是中学部的创意解读，都彰显了中文作为母语教育的核心价值。  

In an international education environment, Chinese is not just a language tool but also a bond of cultural identity. Through debate, students delve into idioms, literary classics, and the art of expression, truly appreciating the depth of the Chinese language. Whether it was the philosophical discussions in the primary division or the creative interpretations in the secondary division, both highlighted the core value of Chinese as a mother tongue in education.

辩论赛是综合素质的试金石——逻辑思维在攻防中严密，语言表达在交锋中精准，团队协作在配合中升华，心理素质在压力下淬炼。学生们在观点碰撞中学会倾听、反思与共情。  

Debate is the ultimate test of well-rounded abilities—logical thinking sharpens in argumentation, language expression refines in verbal clashes, teamwork strengthens through collaboration, and resilience builds under pressure. Students learn to listen, reflect, and empathize through the exchange of ideas—essential soft skills for future leaders.
