This autumn, she has received admission offers from several prestigious universities, including the University of Melbourne, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of Manchester—the application season has only just begun, yet her success is already in full bloom.


Long before these achievements, Teresa was a familiar presence on stages across the campus. Whether performing the elegant moves of Chinese dance or the sharp, energetic rhythms of street dance, she always stood out under the spotlight. 还记得幼儿园第一次看见中国舞,我就被迷住了。踮起脚尖,跟着老师比划动作,从那时起,舞蹈就成了我生活中不可替代的一部分。十几年间,我从市赛一路跳到省赛、国赛,直到把中国舞最高级别的证书捧在手里。那时我以为,自己的人生剧本已经写好——沿着艺术特长这条路一直走下去。

中考后,我进入一所公立高中。身边的同学听说我学舞蹈,总会说:“你真轻松,以后靠艺术升学,不用像我们这样死磕文化课。”我才意识到,原来在很多人眼里,艺术是成绩单的“备选项”,是升学路上一条不用那么拼的“捷径”——好像凭着十几年练舞的底子,就能轻松推开大学的门。


可他们不知道,国内的艺考同样是千军万马过独木桥。想进顶尖艺术院校,不仅要专业过硬,文化课也一样不能落下。而我每天花大量时间练舞,功课越来越跟不上。两边都想顾,两边都悬着,像踩在看不见底的棉花上,心里空落落的。那段时间,我不断问自己:我爱的到底是跳舞本身,还是“靠跳舞升学”这件事?


在现实的夹缝中挣扎了很久,我终于决定不再走那条“看似容易”的路。在父母的支持下,我把目光转向了国际课程——不必硬扛不擅长的科目,可以按兴趣选择方向。也许这样,既能继续跳舞,也能安心读书。


而在新哲的时光,让我验证了这个答案。


I still remember the first time I saw Chinese dance in kindergarten—I was mesmerized. Standing on tiptoe, mimicking the teacher’s movements, dance became an irreplaceable part of my life from that moment on. Over the next decade, I progressed from city-level competitions to provincial and national stages, until I finally held the highest-level certificate in Chinese dance in my hands. Back then, I thought my life was already scripted—to continue down the path of an art specialty.


After the high school entrance exam, I entered a public high school. When classmates learned about my dance background, they often said, “You’re so lucky—you can rely on art for college admission, unlike us who have to grind through academics.” It was then I realized that, in many people’s eyes, art was merely a “backup option” on the transcript, an “easy way out” on the path to higher education—as if years of dance training would effortlessly open the doors to university.


But what they didn’t know is that art exams in China are just as fiercely competitive—a narrow bridge crowded with thousands. Gaining admission to top art institutions requires not only exceptional skill in one’s specialty but also strong academic results. Yet, with most of my time devoted to dance, my studies began to fall behind. Trying to balance both felt like treading on bottomless cotton—unsteady and unsettling. During that time, I kept asking myself: Do I truly love dancing itself, or just the idea of “using dance to get into college”?


After struggling in this dilemma, I finally decided to step away from that “seemingly easy” path. With my parents’ support, I turned my attention to international curricula—where I wouldn’t be forced to struggle in subjects I wasn’t strong in, but could choose courses based on my interests. Perhaps this way, I could keep dancing while also focusing on my studies.


My time at Sendelta helped me find the answer.

来到新哲之后,舞蹈终于回到了它最初的模样——它不再是我升学的工具,而是陪我一路成长、给我无限力量的纯粹热爱。


初入校园时,出于对舞蹈的热爱,我加入了Ultra Black舞蹈社,未曾想到这里会成为我四年的“快乐源泉”。在这里,我遇见了一群来自不同课程体系,拥有不同背景,却因同样热爱而相聚的灵魂。这里没有“专业”与“业余”的门槛,只有“想跳就跳”的热情;没有孤军奋战的迷茫,只有“一起进步”的温暖。

从一名专注中国舞的舞者,通过跨舞种的学习,逐渐成长为更全能的表演者——K-Pop的节奏、爵士的舒展、Hip-hop的力量,甚至是尝试编舞的创造……我们曾为某个动作反复打磨细节,彼此纠正姿势;也曾在上台前互相整理妆容、分享紧张与期待;更在每一场演出之后,不论结果如何,给予对方最真诚的拥抱与那句“我们很棒”。


四年时光里,元旦晚会、国际日、毕业典礼、开学仪式……新哲大大小小的舞台,都留下过我和伙伴们的身影。我们不仅在这里学会了不同舞种,更在一次次的表演中找回自信,找回那个最初只为热爱而舞的自己。我们也为全校师生带来了许多难忘的舞台瞬间,并连续多年携手将社团推上“五星社团”的荣誉榜



When I came to Sendelta, dance finally returned to its original form—no longer a tool for college admissions, but a pure passion that grew with me and gave me boundless strength.


As a newcomer, drawn by my love for dance, I joined the Ultra Black Dance Club, never imagining it would become my "source of joy" for the next four years. Here, I met a group of souls from different academic systems and diverse backgrounds, all brought together by the same passion. There was no divide between "professional" and "amateur"—only the shared enthusiasm to "dance whenever we wanted." There was no loneliness in struggling alone—only the warmth of "growing together."


Starting as a dancer focused on Chinese dance, I gradually grew into a more versatile performer through cross-genre learning—the rhythm of K-Pop, the grace of jazz, the power of Hip-hop, and even the creativity of choreography. We spent hours refining a single move, correcting each other’s posture; backstage, we helped with makeup and shared our nerves and excitement; and after every performance, regardless of the outcome, we gave each other the most sincere hugs and the words, "We did great."


Over four years, from New Year’s Galas and International Day to graduation ceremonies and opening assemblies—every stage at Sendelta has witnessed moments shared between my teammates and me. Here, we not only learned different dance styles but also regained our confidence and reconnected with the initial intention of dancing purely for love. Together, we created many unforgettable performances for the school community and led the club to be honored as a "Five-Star Society" year after year.

从舞台到课堂

在探索中全面生长

现在的我,既能在舞台上享受掌声,也能在课堂上收获成就感。最让我感到自在的是:课间听到喜欢的歌,可以和同学在走廊即兴舞动一段,无需刻意追求动作的标准与完美,随心而动,快乐至上;课堂上,当我选择了自己感兴趣的科目,聆听老师讲解时,不再纠结于“这门课是否与艺考相关”,而是全身心地投入其中,学得更加专注、更加深入。



A-Level 课程体系最打动我的,是它赋予我的探索自由度和成长弹性。多次的大考机会让我不用被 “一考定终身” 裹挟,反而能从容调整节奏,慢慢找到适合自己的学习步调。作为新生,我在进入新哲后获得了一周自由选课与听课的机会,这让我能够充分了解自己真正感兴趣的科目,从而进行更深入的学习。在选课时,鉴于英语曾是我的短板,我特意选择了外教老师Prabina的会计课程。没想到,在她耐心细致的引导下,我这个公立体系出身、零会计基础的学生,不仅快速提升了成绩,更慢慢摸清了学科逻辑,最后彻底爱上了这门课。还有 Doris 老师的经济学,更是让我越学越上瘾 —— 她总能把抽象的经济概念和趣味笑话结合,让枯燥的知识点变得鲜活,每次上课都听得津津有味。


而班主任Joyce老师事无巨细的关心与引导,更让我在国际课程的适应期少了很多迷茫,学得更安心、更顺畅。其实,一直坚持舞蹈这份热爱,也悄悄滋养了我的心态:不管遇到什么难事儿,我都能保持积极乐观,就连学习中的难题,也能用舞蹈里的 “拆解思维” 搞定——就像当初为了一个转体动作反复拆解、打磨细节,现在碰到复杂的知识点,我也会把它拆成一个个小目标,慢慢啃、逐个破,原本头疼的问题,最后都成了“踮踮脚就能摸到” 的收获。

Today, I thrive both under the spotlight and in the classroom. What fulfills me most are those spontaneous moments—hearing a favorite song between classes and dancing freely in the hallway with friends, moving not for precision, but for joy. In the classroom, I now choose subjects that truly interest me, listening and learning without the old question—“Will this help with art school admissions?”—weighing me down. Instead, I engage deeply, focus naturally, and immerse myself fully in the learning process.


What resonates with me most about the A-Level system is the freedom and flexibility it offers. With multiple exam sessions, I’m no longer bound by the pressure of a single high-stakes test. I’ve been able to find my own pace and build confidence step by step. As a new student at Sendelta, I was given a full week to freely observe and select courses—a valuable opportunity that helped me identify my real interests and shape my academic path accordingly.


When it came to course selection, I intentionally chose Accounting with Ms. Prabina, knowing that English had previously been a challenge for me. To my surprise, under her patient and structured guidance, I—a student from a public school background with no prior accounting knowledge—not only improved rapidly but also came to appreciate the logic of the subject. I didn’t just learn accounting; I grew to love it.


Then there was Ms. Doris’s Economics class, which turned abstract concepts into something vivid and relatable. She wove humor and real-life context into every lesson, making even the driest topics engaging and memorable.


Beyond the classroom, our homeroom teacher Ms. Joyce provided consistent, thoughtful support that helped me navigate the transition to an international curriculum with clarity and confidence.


What’s more, the discipline and joy I’ve cultivated through dance have quietly shaped how I approach challenges. Whether in art or academics, I’ve learned to break things down—much like rehearsing a complex turn in dance—into smaller, manageable parts. What once seemed overwhelming has become achievable, even rewarding. With patience and practice, I’ve realized that no challenge is beyond reach—it’s often just one more step, one more try, one small lift away.

进入A1年级后,在老师的悉心指导下,我早早明确了未来的升学方向与专业目标。升学指导老师 Tiffany 始终是我升学路上的引路人和陪伴者:她带我系统梳理海外院校的专业设置,结合我的兴趣与优势,在课程选择、活动规划等方面给予了诸多切实建议,让我的成长之路始终有清晰的方向可循。

会计与经济学作为应用型学科,核心在于理论与实际的紧密结合,尤其需要紧跟国际环境与金融政策的动态变化。带着这样的认知,我在深耕专业知识的同时,始终关注经济与社会议题的交叉领域,希望让学术学习真正回应现实需求、解决实际问题。


在新加坡南洋理工大学 “老龄化产业经济学” 的课程中,我通过跨国案例对比,系统剖析了健康融资模式、人口老龄化对医疗体系的冲击、健康老龄化实现路径及技术赋能等关键议题,完成了从理论学习到专题研究的重要跨越。


为了让学术理论真正落地,我不断寻找实践赋能的机会:参与牛津大学夏校期间,我沉浸式体验顶尖学术氛围,聚焦社交媒体心理学展开研究,进一步理解了技术与人类行为、认知的关联;随后,我又参与了一场汇聚130个国家、2000多位企业家的国际物流峰会,将课堂所学的商业与经济知识灵活应用于真实行业场景,不仅深化了对跨领域运作的理解,更在高频跨文化交流中显著提升了英语沟通能力。

秉承着一颗求学好问之心,我在学习的道路上不断求索。终于,奋斗的汗水浇灌出了幸福的花。10月初,申请季刚刚开始我便陆续收到了多封录取offer!这份惊喜不仅是对过往所有努力的肯定,更给了我奔赴未来的满满底气,让我对后续申请充满期待。如今的我,一边专注备战大考,一边满心憧憬即将到来的大学生活;前方是原野星河,我已带着积累与勇气正式启程,坚信等待我的终将是璀璨而滚烫的未来。




最后,想用一段话总结在新哲的时光:感谢这片自由生长的土壤,这所从上到下充满温度的学校,让我真正被看见、被支持,最终成为更笃定、更有力量的自己。未来,我也将带着新哲赋予我的底气与初心,在更广阔的世界里继续深耕,做更好的自己,建更好的世界!

Upon entering the A1 year, with careful guidance from my teachers, I was able to define my academic and career goals early on. My couseling advisor, Tiffany, has been both a guide and a companion throughout this journey: she helped me systematically explore programs at overseas universities and, considering my interests and strengths, offered practical advice on course selection and activity planning—ensuring my path forward remained clear and purposeful.


I understand that accounting and economics are applied disciplines rooted in the integration of theory and practice, requiring close attention to shifts in the global environment and financial policies. With this awareness, I have delved deeply into my subjects while consistently focusing on interdisciplinary issues where economy and society meet—hoping to use academic learning to respond to real-world needs and contribute to solving tangible problems.


During the "Economics of Ageing Industries" course at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, I conducted comparative case studies across countries, systematically analyzing key issues such as health financing models, the impact of population aging on healthcare systems, pathways to healthy aging, and the role of technology. This experience marked a significant step from theoretical learning to specialized research.


To ground my academic insights in practice, I actively sought out hands-on opportunities: while attending the Oxford Summer School, I immersed myself in the academic atmosphere of a world-class institution, researching social media psychology to better understand the relationship between technology, human behavior, and cognition. Later, I participated in an international logistics summit that brought together over 2,000 entrepreneurs from 130 countries. There, I applied business and economic knowledge from the classroom to real-world industry contexts—not only deepening my understanding of cross-sector operations but also significantly improving my English communication skills in a high-intensity, multicultural setting.


Driven by intellectual curiosity, I have continued to explore and learn along this path. Efforts eventually bore fruit: in early October, just as the application season began, I received several admission offers. This encouraging outcome is not only a validation of my past efforts but has also filled me with confidence as I move forward, making me excited for the applications still in process. Today, I am fully focused on preparing for my final exams while eagerly looking forward to the university life that lies ahead. The future stretches out like a field under starlight—and with all I have gained and the courage I carry, I have already set out, believing that what awaits me is a future both bright and meaningful.


In closing, I would like to summarize my time at Sendelta in these words: Thank you—for this soil in which we grow freely, for this school filled with warmth at every level, where I have been truly seen and supported, and where I have become a more grounded and capable version of myself. In the years to come, I will carry with me the confidence and pure heart that Sendelta has given me, continuing to learn and contribute in a wider world—growing into my best self, and helping to shape a better one.
