身兼英语教师兼外籍班主任的Francois,学生都称他为Frank老师。拥有10年的英语教学经验,让他能够胜任国际教育小学全学段的教学。电子教学工具、科学实验器材等软硬件都能成为Frank老师的“左右手。”
Francois, who is also an English teacher and foreign class teacher, is known to students as Mr. Frank. 在IB PYP的教学理念之下,一个单元主题探究课程(UOI)把语文、数学、英语、科学、艺术、社会学等核心知识融为一体。在这个过程中,Frank老师担任的不仅仅是导师角色,让同学们探究“我们是谁”“世界如何运作”等六大主题,更重要的是为大家打开新思路。
“我喜欢用真实的场景,让孩子们体验到真实的世界。”他说,每一个实验,每一次参观,都把学生的成长一点一点积累起来。
Under the teaching philosophy of IB PYP, a unit of inquiry course (UOI) integrates core knowledge such as Chinese, mathematics, English, science, art, and sociology. In this process, Mr. Frank not only plays the role of mentor, allowing students to explore six major themes such as "Who are we" and "How the world works", but more importantly, opens up new ideas for everyone.
"I like to use real scenes to let children experience the real world." He said that every experiment and every visit accumulates the students' growth bit by bit.

在同一个班级,学生的英语基础并不一样,对英语教师而言,更需要因材施教。Frank老师经常给同学们组织小游戏,把学习任务和学习目标转化为需要闯的“游戏难关”。
在课堂上的一次作答,不仅要说出答案,还要说明思路。同学们通过小组学习的形式,既提高了英语表达能力,又把知识点用轻松愉快的方式记进脑海。
“用外语进行教学其实是很有趣的。”在Frank老师看来,培养孩子们学会运用不同的语言,渐渐地也能尝试从不同的角度看待事物,理解他人,更了解真实世界。

"Teaching in a foreign language is actually very interesting." In Teacher Frank's view, children should be trained to learn to use different languages, and gradually they can try to see things from different perspectives, understand others, and understand the real world better.

身兼班主任一职,Frank和学生有着特别的沟通口号,“Eyes on me”“Eyes on you”同学们总是能够第一时间响应老师的召集。
“团结是班级凝聚力的基础。”Frank老师希望每位学生真正学会尊重、理解他人,这一点从课堂上延伸到了下课后。对犯下错误的孩子,他总是耐心地沟通,一点点地将跑偏的小火车拉回正轨。
As a class teacher, Frank has a special communication slogan with students, "Eyes on me" and "Eyes on you". Students are always able to respond to the teacher's call immediately.
"Unity is the basis of class cohesion." Teacher Frank hopes that every student can truly learn to respect and understand others, which extends from the classroom to after class. He always communicates patiently with children who have made mistakes, and little by little he puts the little train back on track.

学校社区不仅仅是学生的,也是老师的。在校期间,Frank老师在工作上总是有求必应,在学生活动中总是有他工作的身影,不知不觉中也深深融入了学校社区。一年一度的慈善活动,他带着同学们亲力亲为筹款;在中秋游园活动中穿起汉服,走到学生当中去。

At the annual charity event, he led his classmates to personally raise funds; during the Mid-Autumn Festival activities in the garden, he wore Hanfu and went among the students.
