I Witness the Power of Growth
孩子们以小组为单位,提出假设:“Blue and yellow will make... green?”
The Best Education Comes When Home and School Share the Same Heart and Frequency! BeeMee Forest Academy Xihu Campus Open Day Allows Parents to See Another Side of Their Child...
The autumn breeze swept across the campus as we welcomed a long-awaited Parent Open Day.
This was not merely a presentation, but a sincere invitation – an invitation for moms and dads to step into their children's world and experience the beauty and power of the home-school partnership.
Here, we witnessed together: The best education occurs when the family and the kindergarten are united in heart, direction, and frequency.
Rules, Self-Care & Language – Growing in an Atmosphere of Love and Appreciation
In the T1 Conch Classroom, a warm and touching atmosphere filled the air. Parents were no longer in their usual role of giving reminders, but became quiet observers and joyful witnesses. Their eyes no longer held worry or anxiety, but were instead filled with genuine appreciation and encouragement.
Their gazes radiated heartfelt pride, tenderness, and love – when they saw their little ones, who once needed them to bend down and assist, now able to put away their own backpacks, trying hard to put on and take off their shoes, or using clear short phrases to express, "Teacher, please help me," their faces were filled with pleasant surprise. They covered their mouths in tender laughter, their eyes welled up, or they eagerly raised their phones to capture these precious moments of growth.
Bathed in these trusting and affirming gazes, the children seemed to draw immense positive energy:
Understanding Rules: During group activities, they were more willing to learn to wait and take turns, knowing that Mommy and Daddy were watching them with appreciative eyes.
Self-Care Skills: Every independent attempt was met with an approving glance; the seeds of independence quietly sprouted, nurtured by love.
Language Abilities: During varied games and interactions, the children were eager to use English vocabulary to express their needs, knowing that every utterance they made was beautiful music to their parents' ears.
Parents saw that their little ones, who once needed constant care, were blossoming into independent, confident individuals. And isn't the best education precisely about seeing, appreciating, and believing in them?
Forest Day - The Whole World is Our Classroom
The K1 "Forest Day" vividly illustrated to parents that learning is never confined within four walls. We believe that diverse natural environments are the ideal settings to stimulate children's senses and thinking.
Amidst the lush greenery, the children gathered around a giant rainbow parachute, finding leaves matching the colors called out, or simulating finding shelter during a 'storm' as the parachute billowed. Through running, laughter, and collaboration, they naturally reinforced their understanding of colors, shapes, and weather concepts.
On the expansive sandy beach, a different learning scene unfolded. The children used their small hands to dig trenches and build dams to channel water, grasping physical concepts through hands-on experience. They drew letters and numbers in the damp sand, deeply connecting abstract classroom knowledge with real tactile and visual experiences.
This is far more than just "playing games in a different place." The underlying purpose is to provide children with diverse, open-ended natural contexts that fully activate their senses. The same knowledge and concepts are applied and validated repeatedly in different environments, thereby becoming internalized as transferable, living skills. We are nurturing children's endless curiosity about the world and their ability to discover, explore, and learn in any environment.
Interdisciplinary Learning - Knowledge Converges in Authentic Contexts
In the K2 & K3 classrooms, parents were amazed to find subject boundaries blurred, with learning happening in an integrated, organic way. Here, English was not the goal of study, but a tool for exploring the world.
Science: Children eagerly discussed the sinking and floating of vegetables in English: "The carrot sinks! Why?" – a simple game, yet the seed of scientific inquiry.
Mathematics: They used uniformly sized blocks to measure the length of a table and used charts to record their data, learning how to clearly present their findings using numbers and English.
Life Skills: A themed discussion about a "Picnic" was underway. The children **read** English ingredient lists on food packaging, understanding healthy and unhealthy components. In cooking class, they learned to read measurements on a measuring cup, applying mathematical knowledge to real-life practice.
Creative Arts: A collaborative color experiment was in progress. Working in small groups, children proposed hypotheses: "Blue and yellow will make… green?" Then they personally mixed paints to test their predictions. This was not only a scientific process of learning color theory but also a lesson in collaboration – learning to listen, negotiate, and verify ideas together.
English Drama: The children chose their favorite roles for story dramatization. This was not only practice for their language expression skills but also a complete dramatic experience. Using tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language, they brought stories from books to life. Through role-playing, they built confidence, and within the context, English became a natural medium for conveying emotions and narratives.
The profound intention behind our design is this: The future world needs not reciters of facts, but thinkers and doers who can solve complex problems. When children actively read, measure, record, and express to figure out "why the cucumber floats," when they test a color hypothesis through team experimentation, or when they dramatize a story, what they learn are no longer isolated bits of knowledge, but a rich tapestry of competencies interwoven with scientific thinking, mathematical logic, language skills, artistic sensibility, and collaborative spirit. This equips them to understand, communicate, and creatively solve problems using a full range of abilities when facing any unknown challenge in the future.
Broadening Horizons and Stepping onto the Global Stage
During the Open Day, we also regularly presented our diverse Feature Courses. These classes not only broaden the children's horizons and develop their physical abilities but, more importantly, allow them to see a wider world and step onto a more international path.
Education is a beautiful encounter; growth is the combined effort of home and school.
This Parent Open Day not only allowed parents to see their children's progress and growth but also helped them feel the importance of the home-school partnership. We firmly believe that with the shared love and appreciation from both families and our kindergarten, our children will undoubtedly embrace a brighter, more international future!
