At CISK, hands-on learning not only cultivates skills but also forges genuine emotional bonds. Whether showcasing classroom achievements, engaging in off-campus interactive exchanges, or providing tangible community service, students collectively navigate the challenges, pride, and joy of collaboration. These experiences blend academic growth with emotional depth, ensuring their ideas are understood while deepening their appreciation for others' contributions—creating memories that resonate long after projects conclude.

G5 Unit Exhibition

Ancient Civilizations Come to Life

Our Grade 5 students recently wrapped up an exciting exploration of ancient civilizations, after they completed the transdisplinary unit 'where we are in place and time', showcasing their creativity and research skills. They dived deep into Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome, China, and the Maya, and brought their learning to life through detailed reports, interactive displays, and impressive models. This exhibition not only highlighted their academic growth but also the IB learner profile attributes they’ve developed, such as being knowledgeable, communicative, and inquisitive. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication.

DKU Visit

Understanding the Realities of Disability

During the Diversability Lab lecture at Duke Kunshan University, students gained an eye-opening understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. Through insightful discussions and immersive activities, they explored the concept of "support" in a deeper way.

Book Donation

A Heartfelt Gift from Our Community

The school library received 50 picture books donated by one of our generous parents. The school librarian, Mrs. Milly, then invited the JK class students to unwrap this special "gift" themselves and began reading together. The kind gesture from our community will continue to enrich the library’s collection and inspire many more reading moments for our students.

English Literature Class

Bringing Literature to Life

In a recent class with our high-performing Grade 7 Literature students, we took a bold step by recreating and enhancing a scene from The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis. The students crafted authentic new characters, bringing diverse perspectives to life in a theatrical performance. Through interviews and in-depth analysis, they explored motivations, coping strategies, and aspirations. The class ended with a fun, energetic game, “Who Cares About Rhetorical Questions?” where students identified and discussed literary devices in teams. It was a true joy to see students so engaged, and the success of this innovative approach made it clear it will be used again.

Seasonal Greetings

A Holiday Tradition

This festive season, our students added a personal touch to the school’s holiday decorations. Using red and green yarn, they wrapped trees around campus, bringing both beauty and warmth to the environment. In the school lobby, the PTA parents had thoughtfully decorated the Christmas tree and placed students’ photos in snowflake frames. The next morning, children gathered excitedly around the tree to find their own pictures, many already hoping to take this little memory home once the season comes to an end. PTA also organized a crochet activity, inviting interested parents to handcraft a Christmas tree using yarn. Each stitch was filled with the parents’ creativity and care, adding warmth and a sense of involvement to this winter season. Big thanks to our students, parents, and teachers for their invaluable support.

Special thanks to PTA for your time spent in decorating the tree! We appreciate YOU!

Six Art Museum

Student Artworks for Upcoming Exhibition

Recently, staff from the Six Art Museum visited the school to select student artworks for an upcoming exhibition in December. These pieces are the result of a meaningful inquiry-based creative process, reflecting each student’s artistic investigation and conceptual understanding.

The works demonstrate how students have developed their visual language and personal artistic voice through sustained experimentation and reflection—key components of the IB creative cycle. This exhibition will serve as an authentic platform for sharing student agency, allowing them to communicate their perspectives and engage with a broader community.

By presenting their work in a professional curatorial context, students will contribute to a rich, visually literate environment on campus and experience firsthand how art functions within a cultural and public sphere. We look forward to this celebration of student artistry and conceptual growth in January.

Student Artworks for Upcoming Exhibition
