CISH is excited to share more great news from our Maple Dragons! Four of our MYP/DP students took part in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) - one of the world’s largest and most respected math competitions, and achieved outstanding results!
The AMC features problems designed each year by leading educators and academics, aiming to challenge and strengthen students’ problem-solving skills.
To learn more about our Maple Dragons’ experiences, we interviewed the four participants. Here’s what they shared:
Alisa Wenging Li (G6) – Certificate of Credit
Alisa shared that she felt both nervous and excited during the competition. She was proud to solve several problems within the limited time and looks forward to continuing her journey toward even greater achievements.
Ziqian Cheng (G7) – Certificate of Distinction
Ziqian said he didn’t feel much pressure during the competition. He humbly believes his “trick” was answering all the easier questions correctly at the beginning. He also expressed gratitude to his parents for giving him this opportunity.
Kaixian Gao (G8) – Certificate of Distinction
Kaixian is happy he overcame his own self-imposed pressure, especially when tackling the final five questions. He’s glad he participated and hopes to inspire his peers to take on similar challenges.
Shengwei (Rex) Hsu (G10) – Certificate of Distinction
Rex shared that although the competition was challenging, it was a valuable experience. He is proud of overcoming both psychological pressure and technical difficulties. He thanks his teachers and parents for their support and encourages other Maple Dragons to join such competitions in the future.
CISH is beyond thrilled to see our Maple Dragons pushing themselves and growing through these opportunities. Their achievements also reflect the dedication of the teachers who support and inspire them every day. A big round of applause for Mr. Sonny Feng, Mr. Gabriel Woelk, Mr. Toghrul Guliyev, and the CISH leadership team.
Go Maple Dragons!
