融合阶段(IGCSE):系统建立数学知识框架,培养综合应用能力。
冲刺阶段(A-Level):采用模块化考试方案。学生无需在两年结束时面临六门考试的压力,而是可以分阶段应考。这不仅大大减轻了学生的心理负担,也让教师能有更多时间进行个性化复习指导,从而提供更精准、更高质量的教育。

An Enquiry-Based Maths Class
How is students’ potential truly unleashed? The key lies in the classroom. “In my lessons, I place great emphasis on students actively asking questions and evaluating ideas,” explains the Head of Maths. This means that students are no longer passive listeners, but active drivers of learning.
Maths teachers deliberately avoid over-reliance on workbooks, instead incorporating enquiry-based activities and engaging puzzles. Through carefully designed, challenging projects, students are guided to think, question and reason like mathematicians. Here, maths is no longer a collection of dry symbols, but an intellectually stimulating journey of discovery.
This term, the senior school also hosted Maths Week, extending learning beyond the classroom. From game theory to geometry, from logical reasoning to spatial thinking, teachers led students in exploring the rich and fascinating world of maths.

A Coherent and Structured Curriculum
Strong mathematical outcomes and vibrant classrooms are underpinned by a robust and coherent curriculum framework.
The Harrow Hengqin maths curriculum is aligned with Edexcel, creating a clear and seamless academic pathway from Grade 6 through to Grade12.
· Foundation Stage (G6–G8): A strong emphasis on consolidating core skills, laying solid foundations for advanced study.
· Integration Stage (IGCSE): Systematic development of mathematical knowledge structures and the ability to apply concepts comprehensively.
· Acceleration Stage (A Level): A modular assessment approach is adopted. Students are not required to sit six examinations at the end of two years; instead, assessments are taken in stages. This significantly reduces examination pressure while allowing teachers more time to provide personalised revision support, resulting in more precise and better education.

In the school’s first-ever AS examinations since its founding, students also delivered exceptional results, with 100% of Mathematics grades awarded at A, demonstrating the school’s outstanding academic strength.
