Mr. Lawrence serves as the Visual Arts teacher for the MYP and DP programs at CISK. With his expertise and passion, he inspires and guides students in exploring the world of art.
The MYP Visual Arts program at CISK fosters an inquiry-driven approach, where students use visual arts journals to develop their creative concepts and ideas. By exploring topics like "Ancient Architecture" and "Cultural Character Design," students are encouraged to connect their personal creativity with a global perspective. These units provide a framework that blends cultural understanding with artistic practice, allowing students to translate cultural narratives into visual expressions. Ultimately, selected student works are showcased in an external exhibition at the Six Arts Museum, offering a public platform to display their artistic journey.
The DP Visual Arts program at CISK is a comprehensive course that emphasizes both academic depth and creative practice, structured around the core components of the IB Diploma: the Comparative Study, Process Portfolio, and Exhibition. Students are encouraged to explore various media and adopt an experimental approach to their work, developing their own artistic voice through critical analysis, technical innovation, and the integration of diverse influences. The program places a strong emphasis on ongoing curatorial practice and reflection, culminating in a professional public exhibition of a cohesive body of work at the Six Arts Museum, where students experience the authentic presentation of their art in a public cultural space.
We invite everyone to follow the art exhibition taking place in January at Lili Town, Suzhou. More details will be shared closer to the event.

MYP & DP Visual Art Teacher
