This winter, the Beidahu Ski Resort welcomed a special group of visitors—students from the Oriental Cambridge International School, who embarked on a six-day, five-night ski winter camp here. The camp included ski skill training, nature experiences, outdoor exploration, and other professional outdoor sports activities, allowing children to discover the relationship between humans and nature in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere while learning lifelong sports.
The ice and snow sports classes perfectly blend snow sports with physical exercise. On the snow-covered slopes, students engaged in systematic training for snowboarding and alpine skiing in groups. From mastering the basic stance and gliding to gradually learning turning and speed control, every step of progress was built on sweat and perseverance. Professional ski coaches provided patient guidance, ensuring that every student could improve their skills in a safe environment.
In addition to ski training and handicraft experiences, the winter camp also featured team-building activities and other special programs, fostering students' teamwork skills and resilience through fun interactions. "Falling and getting back up" is not only an essential lesson in skiing but also a crucial lesson in life.
In the folk handicraft classes, students gathered together, experiencing the charm of Chinese culture through their fingertips. These cross-cultural experiences vividly reflected the educational philosophy of OCIS—cultivating global citizens with both an international perspective and deep-rooted local cultural awareness.
"Growing through challenges and learning through experiences." This was precisely the mission of OCIS in organizing this winter camp. As the students embarked on their journey back, they carried with them not only newly acquired skiing skills but also the courage to face difficulties and a deeper understanding of cross-cultural experiences. This winter, they left behind imprints of growth and breakthrough on the snowy slopes of Beidahu.
