Mr Paul Rafton joined us in August 2025 as the Penguin Class Teacher and Dragon House Master, bringing with him over 20 years of distinguished international teaching experience.
Mr Rafton offers a truly distinctive blend of technological innovation and inspirational teaching passion. With a decades-long commitment to fostering immersive, hands-on learning adventures, he focuses not only on academic excellence but on cultivating confident, endlessly curious, and resilient young learners.

Mr Paul Rafton joins LEH Foshan as a Prep School Teacher, bringing 24 years of distinguished international teaching experience from the UK, UAE, and Russia. Throughout his career, he has served as both Class Teacher and Assistant Head Teacher, demonstrating excellence in classroom instruction and school leadership.
An innovative educator, Mr Rafton specialises in integrating cutting-edge technologies like VR headsets and 3D printers into his lessons, creating dynamic learning experiences. He is equally committed to fostering a classroom environment that balances care with academic challenge. Beyond the classroom, he has successfully organized numerous whole-school events including science fairs and International Day celebrations, showcasing his strong organizational skills and community-building approach.
Mr Rafton holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Math with Technology from Bishop Grosseteste University College and maintains UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). His unique combination of technological expertise, pedagogical skill, and leadership experience makes him an invaluable addition to our Prep School team.
For Mr Rafton, learning is never “words on paper”. From painting lesson to habitat exploration, from animation lesson to the shape classification lesson, Mr Rafton weaves tech and playful curiosity into every activity, whether he’s leading kids to explore insect habitats, breaking down shape and number concepts, or turning math practice into a team-based puzzle challenge.
By framing learning as a series of curious, hands-on adventures, he’s not just opening the door to new knowledge, he’s laying the foundational confidence, endless curiosity, and resilience that will fuel their growth long after their time in his classroom.
