"My biggest worry back then was that my child’s English would fall behind, but I never expected that she would now rank 4th in her grade in English reading and writing, and even dare to take the stage as the lead character," shared Ms. LUO, mother of Gigi, a student from Class G10P at ASJ (Dongguan), with satisfaction.

Behind this growth is Gigi's hard work and her breakthroughs in adapting to the new learning environment since she entered the eighth grade. Before that, she had been studying in the traditional teaching system from the second grade to the seventh grade. Although she had already shown talent in the arts—being the youngest model in the design club and a gold medalist in an off-campus singing competition—she still lacked systematic training in leadership and communication skills.
而这份成长的背后，是Gigi从八年级开始主动适应新学习环境的努力与突破。在此之前，她从二年级到七年级一直在传统教学体系中学习，虽然已在才艺方面崭露头角——曾是设计社最小模特、校外唱歌比赛金奖得主，但在领导力和沟通能力上仍缺乏系统锻炼。
Transferring to ASJ (Dongguan) became a significant turning point in Gigi's academic and personal growth. Since transferring from a traditional school in eighth grade, she not only adapted quickly to the language barrier, achieving good grades in English, but also actively participated in numerous academic and cultural exchange activities, consistently achieving excellent results. Gigi gradually assumed roles such as class monitor and vice-chairperson of the Arts and Sports Club, demonstrating significantly improved leadership and communication skills. Upon entering tenth grade, she was promoted to Chairperson of Arts and Sports in the Student Council. From artistic talents and specialties to academic abilities and an international perspective, ASJ (Dongguan) holistic educational environment provided Gigi with a solid platform for continued growth.

In the interview, Ms. LUO clearly outlined the key considerations for choosing ASJ (Dongguan): "Compared to the fierce competition faced by some 780,000 candidates in Guangdong Province sitting the National College Entrance Examination, the HKDSE has only around 50,000 candidates each year, so the pressure on students is much lower." The HKDSE curriculum offered by ASJ (Dongguan) broadens students’ pathways to higher education, enabling them to apply simultaneously to universities in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macau, and overseas, thus greatly expanding their options.

What reassures parents even more is that ASJ (Dongguan) is a "articipating school" accredited by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority. Students can take the DSE exam directly in Mainland of China as enrolled students without having to return to Hong Kong, greatly reducing travel and uncertainty, and allowing for more focused and consistent learning and exam preparation.
更让家长安心的是，东莞ASJ是获得香港考评局认证的与考学校，学生能以在校生身份在内地直接参加DSE考试，无需返回香港，极大减少了奔波与不确定性，让学习与备考更专注、更连贯。
This system has truly helped students grow. Gigi transferred to ASJ (Dongguan) in eighth grade and quickly adapted to the DSE curriculum, especially in subjects like science, where she developed a strong curiosity and motivation to learn. This solid academic foundation allowed her to excel in her subsequent diverse development, winning second place in the Hong Kong Financial Management Competition and advancing to the Global Finals in the Asdan Business Simulation National Competition, continuously strengthening her confidence and expanding her capabilities through practice.

Ms. LUO frankly admitted that her biggest initial concern was whether her child would fall behind in English. ASJ's immersive English environment and personalized teaching program effectively alleviated this worry. In the classroom, teachers used engaging methods to continuously stimulate children's interest in learning; outside of class, teachers also suggested creating a language atmosphere through various means, such as watching American TV series to improve language sense. These efforts have yielded significant results.

In less than two years, her English grades jumped to the fourth-highest in her grade. She went from being a quiet student to daring to organize English stage plays, and even communicated fluently in English during her exchange program in Ireland. By ninth grade, through training such as classroom group discussions, she had gradually grown into her class monitor and the vice chairperson of the Arts and Sports Club.

At ASJ (Dongguan) , education goes far beyond academics. Ms. Luo is delighted to see her daughter transform from a participant to an organizer: in a stage play, Gigi took on the role of "little director," independently planning the process and coordinating the team. This leadership further developed in tenth grade—she served as the chairperson of the Arts and Sports Club of the Student Council, leading classmates to complete many large-scale events, and even making independent decisions, no longer relying on her parents for everything.

With the resources provided by ASJ (Dongguan) and the support and help of the principal and teachers, Gigi won the first runner-up in the Hong Kong Financial Management Competition, participated in the Global Finals in the Asdan Business Simulation National Competition, participated in the Hong Kong Housing Construction Robotics Preliminary Competition, and participated in the Korean Cultural Exchange Group, the Irish Study Group, and the Jinan University "Roots-Seeking Journey". She has a very fulfilling learning experience both inside and outside the classroom.
